High IV Charmander. Now what?

So I've gotten a few high IV Charmander from quests and one from a raid. But what am I supposed to do with these? They can't get blast burn. I'm not going to spend the dust to power up a level 15 Charizard with overheat. Do I keep them? Transfer? Trade? Power up? I feel directionless here.

Keep them. You'll never know what niantic will do in the future; I doubt the "exclusive" comm-day move will be exclusive forever. It's possible they will enable those blastburn-on-evolve on future community day, especially since cyndaquil and torchic comm-day will also have them learn blast burn. Keeping 2 or 3 spare good charmanders won't hurt so much.

I agree with Nosa. It might be a long ways out, but everything comes around. Charmander is a popular mon which will certainly get another day in the sun.

This is exactly what I'm doing. Given how much discussion it's sparked in the community, I expect Niantic to react at some point and give everyone a new shot at the exclusive moves. It also makes sense from the point that loads of people are bound to miss these extremely narrow event windows and there are always new players that weren't even playing during the event.

Or, when the "Signature Move TM" comes out, you could use that on it. So glad I didn't throw away a bunch of old Pokemon from when I started the game - they will give me Lucky trades now. Try to cover all possible bases because you never know what will be good three months from now.

More than once i hatched or caught pokemon with high IVs right after their event, and of course, i keep them because they might get another chance in the long run.
I red the article about what will come with gen4 here at gamepress and i know that, after that, there are three more generations to come. Keeping certain pokemon meta relevant however their basestats compare once gen6 and 7 hit, is surely by giving them very powerfull exclusive moves.
A lot of Dragonite and Lapras i got in the last two years would strongly disagree, but i'm not sure if i should want that.

There's a lot of powercreep in some types in the coming generations and some of the current pokemon are bound to become second tier. Niantic also has an incentive to make new pokemon desirable which means they don't want to give everyone powerful new moves to keep them relevant. Best to strike a balance between playing in the now and putting some thought into preparing for the future.

Niantic has shown nothing is ever gone for good. Dont be suprised if there is another oportunity to evelve blast burn charmander in the future.
