Have c-day exclusive moves wrecked your sanity as well?

TL;DR: Have you stopped evolving certain Pokemon because the possibility of doing it during a future community day and getting exclusive moves on them is too enticing to you?

Last c-day, I was completely unprepared and screwed myself over by evolving a 98 dratini a week before dratini was announced as the poster Pokemon for February. All the 'tini I caught during the event came with terrible stats and none of the three I evolved at the last 10 minutes got Draco Meteor. So it's like I didn't even participate lol. 'Neways, ever since that happened I have been holding up on some pretty decent evolutions from species I either love, are already meta-great, or that I think that could be awesome if they got "newly improved" moves during c-day exclusives. Among them is a perfect weather boosted Larvitar I caught last night when walking back home from a party. I don't need more Ttar (I think 15 is more than enough) but the best one I have is a 98-percenter I am undecided on whether to evolve last-night's gem or save her for a possible future c-day exclusive move.
Needless to say, I don't like that we can't use TMs anymore and that the Pokemon have to be evolved DURING the 3 hour limit. As a legacy-move collector, that sucks pokeballs and February broke me from that standpoint.
Just noticed this erratic behaviour today because I saw no problem with withholding some evolutions on some less useful species, but now...

Am I alone in this madness?
