Hatching > Wild

Posted this idea earlier this week. Forgive me, but I don’t see where wild Pokémon are better than hatched or raid Pokémon. Weather be damned, I’m not catching anything better than my eggs.

Hatching is also the best Stardust game in town. Please explain why I’m wrong.

PS I’m working from an IV > Level standpoint.

Eggs are lvl 20. Taking it up to lvl 35;
140k dust + 130 candies. This would take tons of eggs hatched.

Because wild pokemon can be up to level 35 and generally have IV if they are weather buffed.

I’ve caught numerous wild Pokémon With 90+ IV in the level 32-35 range, which is a huge savings in dust.

Where and how? I’m just not seeing better IV’s weather buffed or not. I’ll invest in a good IV, no problem.

I caught a 100 IV Magikarp in a raid. He’s now my Gary beast! This weather stuff seems a myth to me until I see otherwise.

I hatched a 93 Wailmer, then got a 82 in a raid. I just don’t see how hatched > raid > wild isn’t the rule.

Would you take it up past lvl 30?

If you need to grind 400 candies chances are you are going to catch couple of high IVs above lvl 33

Wait till you catch a 90+ IV Wailmer, level 35 in the wild, then you see the differences.

That is easier to say for pokemon that are boosted by sun, wind, cloudy or partly cloudy. Good pokemon that are boosted by rain, fog, or snow are going to be a bit harder/less frequent chances to obtain.

Weather hasn’t been around long, if you play long enough and catch enough you will catch some awesome mons. Best so far is a lv35 98IV Treeko

Yesterday I just caught Feebas with IV 93 and weather buffed level 32.

It is beneficial to follow the discord or groups that send out info like those. If it was near by my place like yesterday's Feebas, I can definitely go out to catch it.

I got a level 35--15a/14d/13s Feebas; has me buddy walking to get candy for it...it would take a year coming from 20

I'm fine with my 15a/5d/12s level 35 Machamp. I had 500 Machop candies, sure I caught a level 20 15/14/15 Machamp in a raid a week before that...some day, one day. Yesterday I caught a 973 oddish, level 35, 15a/11d/14s turned into a 2168 Vileplume RL/SoB. A reason to save and collect candy at least

I caught me a lvl 35 82% machop with 15 atck that became a 2668 machamp with 0 stardust spent.

I have caught a lv 32 96 Treecko, a 100 Barboach, a 100 Carvanha, a bunch of slakoth over 80, a 91 ralts at lv 34 and a 93 ralts at lv 20 since the Christmas event began. But the two other Ralts I hatched only got 70-80 iv, which was disappointing.

It depends on the Pokémon too. Larvitar is difficult to find for most players and you would be better off just catching and powering up a Boosted Tyranitar from a raid rather than hoping you get one from a 10k. The extra candies from hatching one would also be better used on a level 25 caught from a raid.

I raid Tyranitars for the candy...10 candy more and I'll evolve this: level 34 15a/13/14

My top Dragonites and Tyranitars came out of eggs. I’m just getting frustrated because I have enough candies to evolve Sceptile, blaze Ken and Swampert, but can’t find a decent mon to evolve. I’ve been catching them in the best conditions too. Patience is a virtue. ?

I’ve found some very strong, high level mons since the weather started. The best include:

Geodude, 98IV, L34
Treecko, 89IV (15 Attack), L35
Machop, 80sIV (14 Attack), L35
Ralts, 76IV (15 Attack), L34
Slakoth, 78IV, L34
Minun, 100IV, L34
Bulbasaur, 93IV, L34
Hariyama, 70s IV, L34

I’d much rather have those than a L20 version from an egg.

Raid > Hatch > Wild since you can get Pokemon like Tyranitar from Raids

if you have 1 million stardust laying around... then hatching is better.
