But there is some thinking that egg type and hatched pokemon is dependent on Pokestop and environment the egg is collected from.

Not sure about probability of each mon but here is a good study which confirms that certain stops drop certain types of eggs more often. Hope this helps.

Egg hatching would sure be a lot more fun if there was a way to see where the egg was from before putting it in an incubator. Minimally they should provide the same location data that gets displayed at the bottom of each pokemon's screen after it has been hatched. Even better would be to show a picture of the pokestop where the egg was found.

I also wish there was some kind of visual clue of what biome a given pokestop is considered to be in. Assuming it's true that eggs gathered in a desert biome are more likely to hatch into fire, ground and rock types, for example, i would love to have some idea of which stops to visit if I'm looking for something specific. I'm still looking for a Porygon and a Chansey.
