Has there ever been a better time to hoard dust?

With Mewtwo and possibly gen 3 coming and large rare candy stores as well the conclusion of a dust event, I can't think of a reason to spend dust on anything that isn't Raikou (no Mewtwo for me).

What do you guys think?

Answers

Forming raid squads for Lvl 3 raids. Squads for Legendary raids. Also: Tyranitar, Dragonite, Blissey/Snorlax (though quite debatable).

That is very true. If you can already comfortably solo tier 3s and manage 3 ball bonus in a small raid group then its probably good to hoard, but then again unused dust is wasted dust as you could have had a stronger mon in the meantime

Hoping these raids will be swapped for new ones, can't believe they haven't swapped them out yet.

What I do wonder though is whether Dragonite will be outclassed by Rayquaza. They are the same type, but Rayquaza's stats are much better. Other types do not seem to face a direct competitor. Maybe Vaporeon - Kyogre.

Do you mean Salamence? Rayquaza will be head and shoulders above Dragonite of it gets viable moves but we won't see it for awhile.

No, I mean Rayquaza. If it gets shit moves, it won't be better than Dragonite. Salamence is pretty much irrelevant because it is not stronger than Dragonite.

I'm just guessing that they will make them distinct in some way. They can of course give him stronger moves, but since they did not like Dragon Breath, I doubt it.

As always I have a long list of things I would spend dust on if it was limitless.
I don't NEED anything, but I sure would find MANY MANY things to use dust on if I had it.

There is always a long list of mons I would like to power up, but the game doesn't provide the resources to do it.

That said, the best time to hoard dust was when we knew that a gym rework and combat system shake up was coming. There has never been a better time than that...not now, not previously.
