Has shiny problem been fixed?

I remember some other trainer posted before that when encountering a shiny pokemon we may not be able to see the sparkle animation. Has it been fixed by the recent update? I have caught ~500 Granbull/Houndour/Natu/Sunkern/Pineco without seeing single shiny one. I understand the probability if still high but just want to make sure.

If you are on iOS, you have nothing to worry about.

The problem was for Android phones with the current update (that included the fix for the berry bug). It introduced a new bug when tapping on a pokemon. Instead of just cutting to the encounter screen facing the pokemon, the camera starts facing a different direction and pans in to the pokemon. This panning either prevents you from seeing the sparkly-stars animation for shiny pokemon, or it is preventing the animation from playing altogether.

The shiny pokemon still correctly display their alternate colors, but some shiny pokemon have very subtle color differences.

As far as I’m aware the glitch was only the sparkle animation and not the Pokémon model itself, so for the more obvious ones like Snubble and Pineco they would still appear shiny, but Natu and Sunkern would be easier to miss. I caught a shiny Snubble and Pineco earlier today and both had the sparkle animation (updated the game yesterday on iOS)

As an Android user, I can confirm, the bug only causes you to miss the sparkle animation. Shiny Mons will still have their shiny coloration when you encounter them.

To add to that I can comment that the camera pan causes the animation not to play at all. I was incredibly lucky to encounter a shiny snubull and have part of its head appear on screen while the camera adjusted. There were no sparkles or stars at all.
