Has Counter dps changed or just the animation?

I used machamp today in a raid and the move seems so slow. Is it just the animation that changed or dps has changed as well ?

I feel like the animation's changed, but to me it feels faster...

Animation.

Instead of continuous swinging, Machamp now pauses in-between swings.

The animation is different, but the move duration/dodgability/DPS remain unchanged.

Just the animation. Rock Throw appears to be different, too.
