Gyrados and Dragonite
After playing this game for a few weeks now I've found myself wondering how some people have all of the elite pokemon that they have. i.e. dragonite and gyrados.
I was lucky enough to have a dratini nest for about a week and managed to rack up 66 candies still far from what I need, and I haven't seen one since.
Then there are the people I see who have 3 or 4 gyrados, where I'm averaging about 8 candies a week so it'll take me about a year to get my first. Fingers crossed for a good one :)
My question is, is there an optimal way to get these candies that i'm missing? I can't really spend anymore time on the game.
Oh another point I'm already walking roughly 10 miles a day to and from work (because I enjoy the walk) so hatching more eggs isn't a viable option for me.
Cheers, Thanks for the input.

I said most likely, and you most likely do.
I have 7 or 8 dragonites. None at 2800. A few snorlaxes caught, none above 1700, a 1900 lapras.
I'm not saying you DO cheat, but where you gettin all that candy? It would take a hell of a lot to bring random snorlaxes to 2500. Unless you just have insane luck.
Thank you. It is obviously cheating, it gives a huge advantage against regular players. I nearly passed out when I got a 67 IV 1600 snorlax and people on here are like "don't power anything under 90iv". Drives me insane knowing cheaters are giving advice to inexperienced legit players that will likely never find that goal.
There is another possibility: spending hundreds of $$$ on incubators. I'm level 30 and I've hatched a grand total of 200 eggs since I started playing. I've also spent maybe $10 total on the game (all of it going to bag upgrades) - I refuse to shell out $1.50 for an incubator that'll get three uses and then disappear. And before you mention the daily gold bonus, I'm a member of team golden shower, so I'm lucky to get 30 gold a day. :-P
Are you located in California?
If you are then spend a day near the cost in Santa Monica, San Diego, or San Francisco. I live near Santa Monica and was able to evolve a Gyarados in a day the first week the game was out (we literally spent the day laying out on the sand right by the pier catching over a hundred Magikarp easy).
I'm in SF right now for business and this place is INSANE for Dratini and Magikarp (even better than so cal). They are everywhere so definitely stop by the northern coast just south of Alcatraz.
