Gyms Sorting
Any thoughts to sorting a gym differently ? Maybe the mon that took down the gum should automatically be on top or the original 3 on top and then sort it out by CP.

Not really late at all...you all left your remarks where you are more concerned about syntax and spelling than content - my point stll stands.
...and not all the typos are fixed anyway - the one I referenced is still there.
That makes it even funnier that you think it is fixed after jumping on his case already, and my post even explicitly lists a typo.
Also, the AI could switch mons in battle to better counter yours. Say the first mon in a gym is a grass type and you start with a bug type, the AI could respond by swapping with a fire type or whatever was available in the gym that was lest disadvantage against a bug type. This would provide an incentive for players to put different mons in the gyms to cover the weakness of others.
Not at that extent. Now if I prestige a lvl 6 gym let's say, I will put a mon that will sit on top or very close, so most likely bigger than the 1st, 2nd and 3rd added mons.
If I cannot top the gym means the gym is populated by tougher than me trainers, so is my choice if I want to join them at lower level or just go for another one.
Sorting by mon level would make things more interesting, but it would leave people with little to strive for after maxing a dozen or so Eeveelutions of any IV. Since Niantic wants people to keep spending on incubators, specific candies and high IVs will probably always be relevant for top positioning - unless the upcoming rework upends the entire structure of gyms.
I like the idea of permitting only one of each mon species in a gym, still sorting by CP. It would give early entrants to a gym the chance to stay closer to the top by being the only Tyranitar or the only Dragonite.
Low-level players would have little incentive to prestige a gym to level 9 or 10 in this system, as they'd probably be stuck at the bottom. However, high-level players with high-IV mons in the Golem/Exeggutor range could still place above lower-level, lower-IV Vaporeons/Blisseys.
This change would probably make it so that fewer gyms would be prestiged above Level 7. And, there would be more gym turnover because more people (than now) would prefer to add their high-CP mons to newly taken over gyms than add their low-CP mons after lots of prestiging.
This would work if the prestiging formula was changed to have lower requirements from level 7 to 10.
(In your post you're presuming that the current formula stays, in which case yes I agree that there is a strong disincentive from prestiging level 7-->10, only to be forced to place a low CP vulnerable mon inside.)
I think in the case of someone working for the gym (i.e. taking at least 1000 prestige points down or adding at least 4000 prestige up) CP should be increased just for placement purpose (so in the fight will have the same CP) with a fix percentage.
Let's say 30%, so
- a Lapras will be able to top a Snorlax
- a Slowbro might be able to top a Vaporean,
- an Exe will be able to top a Tyra)
Or a variable percentage based on the prestige added or taken. let's say:
- 10% for less than 8000 (when you took down a small gym or prestiged just for your own spot and a few extra)
- 15% for in between 8000 and 15000
- 20% for in between 15000-30000
- 25% for in between 30000 - 50000
- 30% for more then 50000 - you took down lvl 10 gym and also prestige yours; or took down lvl 9 gym and prestiged your up to lvl 5 at least.
I think this will encourage also prestiging the gym more than you need to place your mon and also using strong defenders with medium or even low CP (I would gladly add my Slowbros/Kings and Psychic Exes if they relative CP would be around Vaporeons and Tyra respectively in the above cases).
There are alot of different things I would like for a different sorting system.
1) The first pokemon in a gym stays on top no matter what is placed in it. ( there should be a cp or level restriction to prevent pidgeys from sitting on top of a gym)
2) Remove cp and show atk and def stats. Gym placement is determened by adding def and hp of a pokemon. (So actual good defenders can sit higher)
3) (this has nothing to do with sorting, but I figured I'd mention it annyway) It would be cool if you could only add pokemon with the same type as the first pokemon who gets placed in the gym. This way they would more closely represent gyms in the main series. (For dual types on top: lets say Kingdra, anny pokemon who is partly water of partly dragon van be placed in the gym.)
Not sure I agree with your point 2. Being a good gym defender is about balance between being a tank and a big-hitter, not just the former. Slowbro being probably the best example. Lapras, Poliwrath, Exeggutor too.
Point 3 is interesting, but I think I prefer the idea of one of each species allowed, even if that does deviate more from the main games.
