Anyone else feeling the pain of being a team instinct member? My local area is filled with primarily valor and the occasional mystic gyms. Every time I (one single player not a giant ****** team) take down and prestige a gym to instinct, it's taken back within two hours. I vote for a reboot of gyms based on teams. If you picked a certain color your basically set to get coins while the other teams have trash luck. Not balanced AT ALL. Not that I regret picking instinct at all (I love zapdos and that's why I picked it, plus when reading the descriptions it's the only one more modern), but I think all players should have the right to get coins.

It's also annoying that people are so obsessed with putting dragonite, t-rex, and gyarados (especially the last one) in gyms just to get highest level. These mon suck on defense and are even easier to prestige against because mon with wayyy lower cp take out 2-3 of them. I will admit dragonite (only with dragon tail and outrage or hurricane) is formidable on d as well as T. rex when the gym freezes and SE comes outta nowhere is pretty beast. But gyms need to be more prioritized on variety than level.

There is one subtle benefit of being team yellow though- you will never run out of gyms to attack and will consistently get 10 coins a day (for a takedown). If you're on blue or red and your gyms are all crowded out at level 10 (without any of your mons in it) then you're out unless you shave. Instinct also has the most GPS players (whether if legit GPS playing or 'vigilante' GPS playing to balance out the team composition bias'

You also can't blame players for putting rubbish defenders in the gyms for highest level. The only time I put my 2.8k Snorlax is to piss off the attackers but it never gets the coins because of low CP and it gets shaved quickly. So what incentive do I have to put the snorlax over my 3k mons? Not any to be honest.

Try having your local gym suddenly sprout many Instinct 2700 point Blissey.

I'm Instinct and would never leave Spark if ever you can change teams in the near future. During PoGo's peak, we used to dominate my town. 9/10 are all yellow. Now, there are only a handful of us left. Probably they moved on... Got bored... Got banned... Who knows. But the game is really lacking content. I'm nearing the peak as well. If nothing ever exciting happens after I reach level 40, I'd probably stop playing too. I live in a small city. And there aren't a lot of gyms so active gyms hunters/players know each other. Look at it this way mate. You are the balance your town needs. Make a dent in the gym activity. Let them know there's this lone Instinct player shifting gyms.

I've seen heavily dominant Instinct areas in different parts of town...

Trainer Nick is in New Zealand now and all the gyms are Instinct so in a way, it really depends on which area you're at.

At the end of the day, 1 single trainer can destroy any gym and never let it be built up so you need to find Instinct areas and do gyms there.

I'm sure they exist in all parts of the world.

Downside is of course, all the gyms are probably level 10 already and there is no way for the same team member to interact with the gym at all.

I'm hoping gym rework at least gives us more way to interact with gyms and get coins/dust. Currently, I'd guess most trainers dislike their own teams (due to sniping/shaving) than their rival teams just as much.

18 of the 20 gyms in my area are permanent Instinct owned gyms. It's fun to take them down but you cannot hold them. Occasionally they load them with Unowns that spell curse words or 10 Herracrosses one day after gen 2 release among other things so never a dull moment. Also, according to Gymhunter the rate of instinct controlled gyms has skyrocketed in the past couple of months so I expect the OP may see a swing in gym control soon.

Before this recent crackdown on spoofing, about 95% of my city was controlled by Instinct. I think they got fed up and started spoofing because we couldn't hold gyms for more than 3 hours.

My thoughts exactly. I would imagine a fair proportion of players that spoof have chosen to do so because their respective areas are predominantly controlled by opposing teams, making it impossible to collect more than a couple of gyms on a daily basis.

And as a member of a team that is dominant in my area, I can see why. I fortunately collect 10 gyms on a daily basis, rarely dropping from a collect of 10. Their thought process could be "f*** this, I'm not paying REAL cash for
In game currency, so I'll resort to means to allow me to do so" seeing as the reprecautions (spelling?) are minimal, if any.

My gyms went all from valor to instinct after I was on a trip for a couple of months. These days it's me against a team of organised Instinct players as no one else bothers to attack them.

It's a difficult situation but I managed to be in 5 stable gyms after cycling for multiple hours per gym to find something of valor with an empty spot. It's hard but don't give up!

For Instinct minority areas, they are the most dedicated and organized...they sorta have to be...

But the thing is, if you keep knocking out their gyms even solo and the gym is easy to get to for you (you can walk), they will give up since looking at it one way, you have 10 instinct people who have to drive to the gym and after you tear it down, 10 people have to drive back to rebuild it...they also didn't get any free coin/dust collection so for them, it's a total waste of time assuming again, it's easy for you to get to the gym...

You knocking it down just wasted 10 people's gas and time while it only took 1 of you.

I've seen gyms built up quickly by a few Instinct people looking for stable gyms to build up and I make it a point to go there and tear them down right away so they know they are just wasting their time/gas...Keep doing and I've noticed even if they open spots, no one will come since they know it will be torn down the next day.

I do let further gyms go since now, I'd have to drive, walk further so they can build there (just not in my town I guess).

It´s the opposite in my area. Most gyms are yellow towers, some of them with a 3000 CP bottom pokemon ;)

My local area has few instinct spoofers and they are having a lot of fun around here

I am instinct as well and run into the same problems. I've found if you focus on 1-2 close by gyms and then expand from there it helps. Just lock down local gyms and branch out from there. But if there are few players in ur area then wait till Zapdos is released so you can rein terror on everyone!!

It would be very nice to have a team re-balance, yes, although most of the gyms are yellow where I live, then red after that. Sometimes I feel like the only blue player in my entire area, so it's me against everyone else. Out of the 30 or so gyms total in the two towns nearby, I can go for weeks at a time without seeing a single blue gym, except for the one that's in walking distance of my house. And that one has a red player hovering around who seems to have a grudge against me. He'll leave it alone all day if it's yellow, but he drives over to kick me out within minutes every time I'm there, many times per day. Sometimes he even kicks just me out without bothering to actually take down the whole gym, if there are other blue players in it, then he comes right back twenty minutes later to do it again, if I put something back in. And if I'm not in it, he even uses his secondary blue account to put a trash Pokemon on the very bottom, so I can only prestige 100 points at a time.

Anyway, sometimes I'll prestige a gym up to level 6 or so to make it easy for teammates to join, but it usually sits there with only me in it until a red or yellow player comes along. At least that gives me a few extra minutes, though, because I usually can't hold a gym for longer than fifteen minutes. It's super frustrating every time I spend half an hour or longer taking out a high-level gym, only to lose it again before I've even had enough time to get to the next one.

If I knock a cluster of them down to low level, then sweep through to finish them all off in a rush, sometimes I can hold them long enough to collect the reward from four or five gyms, but usually I've gotten kicked back out of a couple of them by the time I finish, and I've even lost a gym in the exact instant between tapping "Collect" and actually receiving the reward, so I get one less than I expected. The only way to collect from ten gyms in a day is when I occasionally drive around in the middle of the night, but then they're all gone by the next day, of course.

Since he drives, maybe you can keep kicking him out too...force him to keep wasting gas if the gym is close to your house and he has to drive.

I assume each time you start up a car, it costs $2-$5.

If he talks to you, just tell him you want him to keep wasting his gas...to knock you out and you get a kick out of him having to drive there every time...say you don't work or have a job and can do this all day everyday.

...of course, I'm more of a confrontational person so best answer is maybe honestly just ignore him and find a different area...

Talks to me? Nah, when he drives up while I'm standing right there, he just stays sealed up in his truck. He'll kick me out, drive away, then come back again ten minutes later, even if I keep prestiging up the gym. Sometimes I do go back over and over, but most days I assume I'll save that one for last, then collect gym rewards immediately after hitting it, and ignore it the rest of the time.
