Gym Location Closure (No Trespassing)

I highly doubt that Niantic know the opening hours of every park they have ever put a gym in around the world, and coded them all differently based on that.

I am going to guess the answer is 'no'

And some parks close at dusk, which varies from day to day, as well as by location and latitude. Way too much information to encode.

From m experience those defenders go inactive. I had 3 gyms in a park that after a certain time they all become disabled along wit the pokestops. The defenders were in there for 3 days and never heard a peep from them about wanting berries.
