Gym Challenge

Taking from yesterday's "build your own gym" thread, today I have a different challenge.
Below is a gym that I built using mon that were posted yesterday. (You may recognize one or more of them as your own.) I used the same rules as yesterday, no more than 2 of any single type of mon, and no more than 2 types repeated. 8 different types in the gym. This gym is higher than the gyms in my area, which usually run in the 2600 to 3200 area.
T'tar B/C 3575
D'nite DT/OR 3361
Snorlax ZH/BS 3241
Rhydon MS/SE 3222
Snorlax ZH/BS 3194
Blissey ZH/DG 3137
Gary DT/C 3087
Blissey ZH/DG 3009
Vape WG/AT 2954
Eggy C/P 2846

The challenge is to build your team to attack this gym using only mon that are currently in your collection.
I haven't put my team together yet. I'll add them when I get a few minutes break.

EDIT: My Team
Vape WG/HP 2848
Blissey P/DG 2759
Machamp BP/DP 2417 (Maybe not the best choice, but the best one I have)
Dnite DT/O 2827
Rhydon MS/Eq 2824
D'nite DT/Hu 3032
I may have to take it down in stages. And I hope the dodge bug doesn't hit me.

I would choose my

1 Flareon 2300+ FS OH
1 Exeg almost 2400 C SOB
1 Machamp 2400+ C/CC
1 Heracross almost 2400
1 Cloyster double Ice 2000
Another Hera

I won't take them all I know.

Yesterday it took me around 55 minutes to take down a level 10 gym. Not THAT strong like that but pretty strong. 2300 min CP - 3100 max dragonite. 1 blissey in middle.

I don't even know what Im posting this for.. it's nonsense. Bye friend.

It is all good man. Believe in your team Bud! It may have taken you 55 minutes but you took it down!

I respect your team. I posted the challenge and I KNOW that I couldn't sweep this gym in one try. I'm still looking for my best team.

1: Flareon CP 2298 FS/OH (Eggy, backup for Snorlax)
2: Exeggutor CP 2623 C/SoB (Vape, 1st Blissey
3: Jolteon CP 2346 TS/TB (Gary, D'nite)
4: Vaporeon CP 2652 WG/HP (2nd Snorlax, T'Tar)
5: Gyarados CP 3008 DT/OR (2nd Blissey, D'nite)
6: Vaporeon CP 2564 WG/HP (1st Snorlax, Rhydon)
As much as I don't want to use 2 Vapes, I don't have a choice as none of by highest CP Pokemon can take down a T'Tar faster.

First off I enjoy these challenges. I also have better defenders than attackers. Having said that I think I would bring my:

3264 SW/H Dragonite (or a 2730 FF/FT Arcanine) - trying to decide what might be best here... hmm
3101 B/SE Tyranitar
3050 P/HB Blissey
3025 P/HB Blissey
2768 C/Sob Eggy
3005 AT Vaporeon (I'm thinking AT here for easy dodging and being able to stay alive the longest. Could bring a HP one instead but I've been liking AT better lately for survivability)

I'm not winning any time races with this lineup lol.

"First off I enjoy these challenges. "
Thanks. I've done a lot of MMORPG over the years and in every game/clan/guild/squad, etc. we would run a night every week or two where we would play a game within the game. Just to relieve the tedious levelling up process.

Dragonite 3073 DB/DP
Exeggutor 2629 ZH/SoB
Gyarados 3175 DT/O
Espeon 2507 ZH/FS
Vaporeon 2832 WG/HP
Snorlax 2312 L/HB

The Snorlax is there as a catch-all, in case any of the other mons meet a premature demise.

The lineup would change considerably each time a defender or two is knocked off the bottom. For the first run-through, I don't think I could afford to put in a Jolteon or Scizor or Lapras, just to counter Gyarados, Exeggutor and Dragonite respectively.

Snorlax is my favourite 'backup' attacker. I have 2 Lick/HB Snorlaxes with almost the same CP (slightly below 2300). I also like using them against Exeggutors without Seed Bomb.

It was only about a month or so ago that I rediscovered my L/HB Snorlax. For a long time, I have used a P/HB Wigglytuff as a catch-all prestiger, and for some reason, it recently occurred to me that the Snorlax could fill the same role on a full-strength attacking team. I actually don't attack enemy gyms nearly as much as I prestige friendly gyms.

How do you like DB/DP? Its my only legacy moveset Dragonite, but mine was caught in the wild and has very low CP.

It's not bad, and it's the best I've got. Dragon pulse is a little slower than I'd like, which leaves me exposed when I am launching it. It's great against a HB Blissey, but multi-bar charge moves like BS on a Snorlax give it a hard time because of DP's long cooldown.

If there was a DB/O Dragonite, everyone would be salivating over it, and while DP is worse than outrage, I don't think it is that huge of a difference. Outrage is even (very slightly) slower, although it does do more damage. According to Pokebattler, DB/DP takes about four seconds longer than DB/O (which doesn't exist) to beat a ZH/HB Blissey, with all mons at level 30.

Doing this reversed ( from top to bottom) because I can organize attackers better that way.
6. 3042cp vaporeon wg/at Tyranitar and rhydon(1st & 4th spot). Should not be a problem.
5. 3121cp blissey p/hb dragonite and snorlax( 2nd & 3rd). Snorlax might be tricky one but She is bulky one. After that dragonite goes down with dodging.
4. 3010 cp vaporeon wg/hp or dragonite db/dp snorlax(5th and back-up).
3. 3333cp tyranitar b/se blissey(6th).
2. 3411cp dragonite dt/or blissey(8th)
1. 3068cp p/hb blissey gyarados, vaporeon and exeggutor(7th, 9th, 10th). With dodging she can do anything!

3217 Dnite DT/OR (Dnite)

3309 Ttar B/SE (Snorlax Blissey)

3049 Ttar B/SE (Snorlax Blissey

2400 Jolteon TS/TB (Gary & Vape)

2296 Charizard FS/O (Eggy)

  • Had to throw my brand new Charizard in there!

Your virtual gym is pretty solid. Unfortunately, if we want to go through the entire gym, we have to use "tanks" only. Machamp, Jolteon and other glass cannons are NOT welcome !
I would try this :
- Kill the first 3 mons with :
Eggy C/SoB 2693
Eggy E/SoB 2855
- Then take care of the Gyarados and begin second Blissey with :
Dragonite DT/O 3278 (I know he is weak to DG)
- Finish Blissey and kill first Snorlax with :
Gyarados DT/H 3226
- For Rhydon and Snorlax :
Gyarados B/H 3187
- Last two :
Vape WG/H 3070

Even if I manage to go through the entire gym every time, take it down completely could take 80 minutes.
Here, a better strategy would be to kill the first two mons, leave fight, and face 9 mons only ;-)

This virtual gym is tbetter than any I've faced in real time. In my area, gyms range between 2500 and 3200. With only a few mon above 3K.
I don't consider Machamp as a true glass cannon. My 2417 Machamp is 141 HP. That puts it in the same "tank" range as a ~2750 D'nite. (Higher HP, lower CP) or approximately the same as an Eggy of the same CP. I just wish he had better moves.
But I agree that my strategy might be to take the gym in stages. I doubt I could sweep it the first run.

I feel kind of cheap, by using doubles of some mons, but I'm just being honest if I wanted to wipe this sucker out first crack. But I'll but my "subs" if we wanted to keep it 6 different mons going at it

1.2717cp snorlax (L/HB) Lick is super effective against eggy, and lax is bulky enough to not be too hurt by confusion, and still have plenty of health to take out vape

  1. Gary Uno (B/HP) 3164cp- I have a pair of maxed out garys that are my go to blissey destroyers.
  2. Gary Dos (B-HP) 3148cp- Told ya I had 2 (sub would be 3018cp dnite with db/hb. A good all around attacker)
  3. Vapey (WG/HP) 3008cp- Gotta.
  4. Rhydon (MS/SE) 3015cp- I also have a RS/SE ab out the same cp. Decent matchup against most, just in case I miss a dodge or two. MS or RS may not be very effective against dnite, but SE is still a a beast.
  5. Another vape (2834cp) with HP. What can I say, he goes the distance. (sub would be 2275 ferealligator with WG/IB. Wg would cover trexy well )enough without the charge up, and ib makes short work of dnite

3292 dt/hu for Eggy and part of 1st blissey
2682 bs/sob for vape and rhydon, maybe 1/4 os snorlax with a SoB
2998 db/dc for what left of 1 blissey and Gary
3298 b/se for 2nd blissey and a nut of 1st snirlax
3025 wg/hp 1st snorlax and snorlax
2954 wg/at for dragonite and tyra

Well, I probably won't make it, but I'll give it my best shot (CP is approximate or from memory)
1. 2550 Flareon FS/O and 2. 2500 Eggs E/So to take down Exeggutor, Vaporeon, and Blissey 1. Hopefully I'll have something left for Blissey 2.
3. 2476 Jolteon TS/TB for Gary and to suicide some DPS into Blissey 2.
4. 2580 Exeggutor BS/So 5. 2800 Vaporeon HP and 6. 1980 Lapras FB/B will have to fight valiantly against the rest. At least I'm a pretty good dodger.

3453 Dragon DT/O
2626 Jolteon TS/Tb
2456 Machamp C/CC
3044 Vape WG/HP
3023 Dragon DB/HB
and...
2429 Lapras IS/IB - or - 2883 Espeon ZH/FS - or - 3012 Vape WG/AT

After first attack with Lapras (eggs now dead - dragon 1 moves down the line) I'd probably switch to Espeon if it went well and 2nd Vape if it didn't.
