GUR- The Grand Unifying Rater

Hey Gamepress, I can't do the math. Would it be possible for you to add movesets to the IV calculator and produce a single percentage by which I can compare an 88.9% Arcanine with Fire Fang / Fire Blast against a 91.1% with Fire Fang / Flamethrower?

While I'm looking for the same thing in terms of comparing specific IV/moveset combos vs. another, I can answer yours right now - Fire Blast will win out on offense.

Vs. a normal defender like Snorlax, Blast is going to give you another 6-7% DPS. You would literally have to be comparing like a 100% Flamethrower vs. 0% Blast

So without even knowing how those IV's you have are distributed, it doesn't matter - Fire Blast will win out

I've had a lot of luck with both. Growlithes are a dime-a-dozen here in the Central Valley of California. I need water types desperately.

Also, the closest thing I've found to what you're asking is a spreadsheet that's been publicly shared from reddit - just google 'Pokemon v4 TDO' and the reddit post will show up with links - you can make a copy and put it on google sheets or download it.

With it, you can input specific IV's/level/movesets, etc. and it will tell you various stats about it, including 'TDO' which is Total Dmg Output - so you could see how much dmg each would do in a theoretical fight before fainting

Thanks, I'll look into it. Do you know, is this based on strict damage or does it go into the DPS like Gamepress? I'm very impressed with their thoroughness.

I downloaded and studied the spreadsheet you referred to. It seems very useful for battle analysis. Hopefully I can retire my own spreadsheet and start using the TDO one instead.

I use the same spreadsheet, it's made by Qmike, for a long time it was widely regarded as most accurate spreadsheet out there. However, it hasn't been updated since CP changes so you're going to have to update the base stats by yourself. And yes, you can see both DPS or damage before feinting. I've used this spreadsheet for ages and I couldn't imagine playing without it.
