Grass Knot Breloom

So, the upcoming Hoenn event gives us Grass Knot Breloom. Haven‘t really worked with that Pokemon, but would it be any good? I‘d guess it would give it quite a bit more Grass DPS, though anywhere near the big Grass attackers? And how would it do in PvP compared to Seed Bomb?

Against Kyogre it's on par with Roserade and Frenzy Plant Venusaur. Faster and frailer than both.

EDIT: It's a little bit slower yet substantially more powerful than Seed Bomb.

Very good DPS, on Par (or maybe even better?) with venusaur but still unacceptably frail (worse than pre patch Gengar)

No reason to be too excited if you have a FP venusaur.

It'll be the new best grass attacker by pure DPS, beating roserade by about the same amount that it currently beats machamp in fighting type DPS. However, just like its fighting situation you're sacrificing a lot of bulk for the extra bit of DPS.

As far as PvP goes, Grass knot is a much better move that seed bomb, doing more than 60% more damage (90 vs. 55) for only 25% more energy (50 vs. 40). But Breloom is a pretty poor option for PvP given how frail it is.

Breloom has a definite niche in Boulder Cup in countering the mudboys and most Skarmory counters, but I'm not sure GK will benefit it too much there. Seed Bomb probably already oneshots mud and DP is preferable against rock and steel.

A lot of people on TSR are hyping it up right now, but honestly FP Venusaur (and Roserade) is still better overall. It's way frailer than both of them and it's DPS isn't high enough to offset that fragility.

But it'll be a good option regardless. And not to mention cheaper and more accessible than both those two listed above.

DPS/TDO puts it at 4% better DPS than FP Venusaur. So excellent DPS but it's very glassy. It's one of the big ones now, kinda comparable to Roserade, glassier but has more reliable DPS due to 2-bar move.

In PvP Seed Bomb is 55 power for 40 energy, Grass Knot is 90 power for 50 energy (a clone of Dynamic Punch). Slower to charge but it should hit incredibly hard coming from Breloom.

Because its so frail you'll just need one good IV and level Grass Knot Breloom and put it at the start of your raid party. Then you can get some fast DPS before the raid boss can hit its first charge move.
