Good luck in the battles that come?

Does anybody think Niantic will anyhow do a step towards rural players?

I mean.. seriously I was a semester abroad in Bangkok, now since I came back and all these "play in a group or go an f*** urself" shit is really frustrating.

Back here - at home- literally no one is playing Pokemon Go. Or if so, not at the same time I am.. never saw anybody at a gym.

This is pure sarcasm by Niantic putting legendarys around me..

I don't know the stats, but I guess Niantic lost a lot players since the revelation of raid bosses..

So.. what do you think..
Does Niantic consider rural areas in future updates? Do they even mind the few?

I honestly would not even play the game if I was rural...no Pokestops and no gyms (free Pokecoins) without driving, say an hour is just not worth it...

I assume less spawns too.

There are funner things to do and play with your free time.

Naa, there are some stops - even in my small 600ppl village and the next smaller "town" is about 5km away.. so that's not a problem..

It's only about the playerbase - what is required.. it's just not.. there.

But that's enough to quit the game..
I played abroad to lvl 34, here I gained another level so I am lvl 35 since March.
I stopped the game after they released the legendarys at goFest..

Hoping for more luck with the updates that'll come

I feel for you. If I hadn't discovered the local playerbase online, all the legendary/raid talk would have driven me nuts and I may have quit too. I hope you either find a group or an update comes to help you out.

It really wasn't too bad before the update. The extreme lack of potions for everyone in the local area made having good defenders/attackers worthwhile and fun while being able to keep gyms for long periods of time made up for the lack of spawns(dust/coins for incubators).

Post update, 100 coins a week is optimistic waiting for gyms to come down and dust is very, very scarce. Putting legendaries in eggs and switching the gym reward system would help rural players tremendously.

I hate to say it, but as far as being rural and playing Pokemon Go, it is what it is. I don't think it's changing much more. I say this as a rural player. However, there's rural and then there's RURAL. I live in a town of 10,000. Before the gym rework, we had 3 accessible gyms and ~15 accessible stops without a real good loop of 10. Now we have 9 gyms and few extra stops.

For me and others in my town, we adjust. We have an excellent discord chat and consistent raid groups of 5-20 depending on the boss. We have to come together regardless of team. We don't get a lot of spawns, and I'm constantly out of supplies (except potions now lol!). It is what it is. I love the game, and I'm happy playing it.

I have to agree with you... On a recent trip I realized that I'm not a rural as many areas and small towns we drive through. Although there is a permanent pokemon drought at my house (nothing spawns without incense and probably never will), a park in town 3 miles from here is as good as the best poke park in the city with 10 stops and 3 gyms on a 1 km loop trail. I have 600 (!) balls right now and only run out when traveling. So the game is very playable in this rural county.

Since the gym rework all 3 teams have held gyms, so there is a good number of players here... I've had help with t3 raids, but so far no luck with 4 and 5s. It may be a matter of time, but I've accepted that t4/5 raids may just not be feasible here. But this doesn't have to ruin the game, I just focus on other things (e.g., soloing t3 raids).

And who knows, stops are still being added and Niantic has increased rural spawns before. So don't give up if you love the game!

Another non-cheat option is have a family member play on a diff team...Like a sibling, parent, grand parent, etc...

Can do Tier 3 raids easy and still get coins...

All 3 teams are represented in my family, which I thought was a big noob mistake.... Funny how things can change. The game is full of surprises, and that's a good thing.
