Golem or Rhydon Swap

I have a couple Rhydon with Megahorn between level 25 and 30. I also have a hatched Golem at level 20 with Rock Throw/Earthquake. I have 10 each Fast and Charge TM.

Raikou is my local legendary beast this month and I need a couple more counters. Which would you do? Are the Rhydon worth risking needing multiple Charge TM to get right?

If you have no other use for TMs Rhydon will be the better counter and cost no or less dust. I however have a major TM drought and could use at least 10 of each but usually get 1 per week with 1-2 raids a day. I wont be using them on Rhydons for the following reasons:

Various (non SE) mons that are better counters to raikou or many other opponents where rhydon is usefull.

In gen 4 rhydon can evolve to rhyperion so im not gonna waste precious TMs on a mon that will be further evolved.

Earthquake is ideal, but I think Stone Edge is probably not too far behind, and both are leagues better than Megahorn.

Use one TM to get rid of Megahorn and go with whatever you get. I did that with two Megahorn Rhydons I have had for a long time: One got Stone Edge and the other Earthquake.

I haven't had time to hunt for Raikou raids yet, so maybe I'll re-evaluate and try for Earthquake on the second later. But remember also that Entei is coming; both rock and ground are good against fire, but Stone Edge is the stonger/faster move.

Also depends on the amount of people that regularly come out to your local raids. We have some pretty good sized active raid groups here, so second string raid counters are acceptable. I haven't looked for reports yet, but I'm guessing Raikou can probably be done very comfortably with 8-12 people.

Raikou is easily done with 6 good trainers (3 or so supreme counters with a few good counters too, each) and a simple task for most any groups of 8+ unless you have Blissey tag alongs....or a guy that joined us today that just posted up 4 Steelix for the boss and was advising others to do so also.

You might as well try one charge TM on each Rhydon, as SE will still be an improvement (wait a couple hours in between if the first one doesn't give you what you want, do the second right away if it does - RNG bias theory).
Golem's a tough call. Fast TMing to double ground would help now; but in the long run, you want double rock on him. If he is your only golem, you want double rock.

If you had 0 Rhydon's with Mud Slap/Earthquake, I would try to get at least one.

Since Gen 3 is probably due later this year, even though I had very few Fast TMs, I used one on my maxed Rhydon to get Mudslap/Earthquake. It was already powered up from my gym sitting days before...

I wasn't planning to TM it, but Niantic could "buff" Mud-slap so I'd be more annoyed if it went Legacy so used a TM to make sure I'd have at least one (collecting game now).

I was also planning to hold off for Gen 4 as mentioned above, but figured that's a year away actually and figure I'll get a few more TMs before then...

Charge TMs are much much more tricky though. I have a 95% Machamp I want to TM (has counter), but hesitating still...
