Golden Razz Berry = Pinap Berry?

This isn't a Blastoise from a raid. I just saw him near my house and ran over there. The Blastoise had a dark red circle around it. And then when I used the golden razz berry it went to bright red. It's the same thing a regular pinap berry would have done. Wasn't the golden razz berry at least suppose to make it yellow or something? I was using the ultra ball, FYI.

4 excellent throws + 1 great throw + 1 missed throw + 6 golden razz berries later... His IV's suck, too. What a waste.

First of all, pinap berry doesn't impoove the catch rate, normal razzberry does, had you use a normal razzberry and compared it to a golden razzberry you would have noticed the difference, there's still not exact numbers on the bonus from the golden razzberry, as it's probably still too soon to have statistically significant results.

As for the IV's please note that if you find a pokemon that's particularly hard to catch for the CP, he probably has low IV's, as being hard to catch means he's high level, and if it has a high level but low CP (for that level) this means his IV's are bad.
