Give me a reason to power up my 100% Donphan

I hatched a perfect Panphy and immediately evolved it into a level 20 Counter/Earthquake Donphan. The obvious reason to power it up is "because I want to" or "just for fun", and those reasons may be good enough. However, I'm interested in the best in game uses for Donphan. TMs are obviously rare, but I'd consider move changes. Also consider that I live in America where Raikou has already come and gone. Thank you for the help!

youre the only one can answer your own question or suggestion. you lived in america where so many nest nearby and you can get a better pokemon than donphan like rhydon. if you want it for fun you can powerup it its still good to use.

Not really sure why this was downvoted. Unfortunately, Donphan is not particularly useful in this meta and is outclassed by Golem, Rhydon, etc....

That being said, I don’t think you can go wrong with powering up a 100%.

The best reason to power up a Donphan with that move set is to create an aura of confusion in gyms. Trainers will look at this 2590 Donphan and go "What?" for long enough for you to gain 1 extra coin when the server goes "Screw you - you're wasting my time, I'm going to give you a Network Error until you make up your mind."

You'll be able to get a full 50 coins out of this over the lifetime of the game, so POWER IT UP! POWER IT UP! POWER TO THE DONPHAN!

Because elephant never forget

Because Donphan is part of the 3K CP Club. Power it up to level 40 so it can go above 3000 CP! :)

I actually checked this and a perfect Donphan hits exactly 3000 at level 39.5. It's certainly tempting...

I powered up my 93% Donphan with C/PR and I really like him. First of all he's a good defender and then I use it as my sixth pokemon against Tyranitar raids after 4 Machamp and one Poliwrath.

With Gen III on the horizon I would power him up for potential counter for Regirock and Registeel (which will probably be available as raid bosses at some point).

Main reason is that the both moves are gonna be super effective against them (I also think legendary beasts will make return like the birds did - three at once he would be great agains Raikou) I don't think his moveset is going to change though since there is not much ground type moves he can learn naturally.

I used mine with EQ against Raikou as a 5th option. But that's about it.

I used my EQ Donphan for battling Raikou, a fun change from Rhydons. Unfortunately a Raikou counter is no longer needed. But then you can TM to Play Rough and stick in gyms just for grins.

It’s a 3k come ground type pokemon that doesn’t quite get erased from existance from Vaporeon like Rhydon does.

Yes, because it is 100%.

Because it's perfect and it rhymes with your name.

Donphan is a decent tank counter vs Tyranitar. Niche, I know, but variety?
