Today I tried to solo another Gengar, this time Hex/Focus Blast. The previous one that I soloed successfully was Sucker Punch/Focus Blast, which I soloed with the same team as this one, but lower level. I thought it would be easy, but it wasn't.
I had only 1 failed attempt on the first one, but 14 failed attempts on this one. (For most of them, I quit at the 90-second mark as I couldn't get past yellow bar)
These were the Pokemon that I used. My first 9 teams were without the Tyranitar. Only on my 10th attempt did I remove the Gengar and try out the Tyranitar.
1: Alakazam CP 2144 L26 PC/FS
2: Alakazam CP 2416 L30 PC/SB
3: Espeon CP 2527 L30 ZH/FS
4: Espeon CP 2447 L30 C/FS
5: Tyranitar CP 2805 L27 B/SE
6: Gengar CP 1676 L23 SC/ShB
7: Dragonite CP 2950 L29 DT/O
I was able to consistently get off 2 FS with the first Alakazam (which was my 1st Pokemon in all 14 attempts), by dodging FB and 2 Hexes.
The 2 Espeons always got off 3 FS combined (They were back to back in most of the attempts).
The SB Alakazam could always get 2 SBs, sometimes 3.
The 10th attempt was the first attempt that I used the Tyranitar instead of the Gengar, and I got very close. Tyranitar did very well with dodging the FBs (though I did fail dodge once with full health and got 1 shot KO). On the 10th attempt, I managed to dodge 2 FBs without getting the dodge glitch, and get 3 Stone Edges off with the Tyranitar.
On this attempt, I got really close. I think the Gengar would have been defeated with a single Outrage from Dragonite. If I didn't lose 6 seconds at the start of the raid (timer started at 174), I could have got off the Outrage!
Regarding not getting dodge glitch from dodging the Focus Blasts, I think dodge glitch doesn't affect solo raids. I've never got the dodge glitch on any solo raids, neither have I seen it on any youtube videos of solo T3 raids.
P.S. The 14 attempts at this raid depleted my entire potion stockpile.
