Gengar question

I have 2 Gengars in consideration. First one, 2287 CP, 96% IV's, hex/shadow ball. Second one, 1474, 91%, sc/sb. Would it be worth the investment to have the second one powered up? Or stick with my first one. And also how much better is SC compared to Hex.

Same here...havn't touched the sc gengar up until now. I just have no use for Gengar but I'm not a big fan of Alakazam so maybe if your playing style likes glass cannons then he could be your choice.

The one with sc has a 12 attack stat. Does that low of an attack make that much of a difference?

Power it up to the Confusion 33 damage breakpoint against Mewtwo.

Try pokebattler. I have a sc/SB 14/09/14 (ADS) gengar. I then create a h/SB perfect gengar with the same level. When I try different raid bosses, shadow claw outperforms (when sort by Overall) hex in about 8 out of 10 times.
