I have two very high IV gastlys and have also the candies to evovle them.

In the past I had evolved only 3, all with bad moveset.

However, now that Gengar best moveset SC/SB is legacy, is there any reason to do it? A Hex/SB Gengar has any use? Would it be wise to wait because maybe Gengar will get a better moveset in the future?

i'd say it is very hard to predict. they may give new moves to gengar in the future and make h/sb legacy and make it the best moveset, same as sc/sb today. or a new moveset in the future might become the best, who knows

Maybe evolve one and keep the other. I have a SC/SB Gengar and now a H/SB to join it. Just have to roll when you can and see what you get. Can regret your decision or kick yourself for not doing it. I got a lot of candy from Halloween event and just ran out with Gengar number 6.

What use has Gengar? Attack vs what?
I have a lev20 legacy SC SB
15 15 12df 93%
WHY should I power up?
Just cause it's cool?

According to this site it is the fastest attacker into vaporeon. Against a neutral defender, it is the highest DPS mon in the game (no dodging), but obviously it gets taken out very quickly.

I have 3 shadow claw ones (2 of them sludge bomb 1 shadow ball). Then I also evolved a hex/shadow ball and found it to have no use whatsoever.

The shadow claw ones are already marginal in utility except for taking down stuff (very) quickly. The hex one loses a lot of that punch so makes it not useful at all.

I got 3 Gastly's with +90% IV's. I'm holding off on evolving them. I'm hoping Gengar gets better moves. Luckily for me, I do have a +90% IV Gengar w/ legacy SC/SB.

During the Halloween event I probably transferred all the Shadow Balls right away 'cos it was a crap move. Can't get a double Ghost ever since.

Irks me that I once considered transferring my 98IV Shadow Claw Shadow ball at level 30 (before the move changes)...

SC/ShB was the best defensive moveset before the more update, though.
