Gen 3 any time soon!?

Hi!

The Youtuber "Poké AK" claims the Gen 3 sounds files have been found in Go. That's usually the last step before a new generation is released. Can any of you confirm this information? (source please!)

Niantic never makes anything official until a couple of days in advance at the most. Code and data miner are able to speculate on what likely coming additions will be base on what is in the code but they don't know official dates.

The sound files were found 2 patches ago...this is not something new.

The 'source' is the TSR APK tear down that gets done within hours of every patch release.
The sound files were there 2 patches ago, and were still there in the last update...none were added, removed or changed.

Here is a link, to the second mention of the sound files (under the heading 'Parting Thoughts')

I'm not really excited for Generation 3, what about you guys? I guess it's an unpopular opinion, but for me the game doesn't really improve much quality wise by the addition of new graphic designs.

At the moment all the game does is reminds me that I personally have no control of getting the last entry in a game driven by the idea of 'gotta catch em all' - so I am looking forward to having something to target that I can actually have some influence over.

It might give me more motivatation to actually get out and excercise rather than dreading going to the same park again and again in hope that I may be graced with the generosity of Niantic finally rewarding me with something I have already spent a fortune trying to get....but have no control over.

The game has become stale, and is bordering on annoying every week I find my hard work and money goes unrewarded.

I can understand.

For me personally, I actually miss the times that I had to "Go" and travel to find those level 9 gyms across the city that I could prestige and put my Pokemon in. Or when I had to hunt for Pikachu during events to fulfill the golden badge.

Those were the times I really discovered new areas. These days it's just my living room, whenever I bother to open the app. I wish they could invent something that let me travel again and makes it worthwhile at the same time (coins/badges/...).

I'll share my own gaming science research at the expense of it not being appreciated, much like the guy that caught 8 Mewtwos that first week...I got 5 EX passes for the same raid Monday 12/11. During the bonus XP week I was on vacation and I tried to level up some accounts---27, 27, 27, 23, 20. Mainly accounts I started for my 3 y/o to mess with since I play my account so much. They range b/t 5 total raids completed to 25 total.

Well, I'm not going to take off work, partly b/c the accounts aren't ones a Mewtwo will fix. Also a guy that raids a lot at the same EX-centric park repeats all the YouTube and SR bologna: "get a Gold Badge" and "raid as much as you can!" Well, he got his first EX pass for the same raid. Whatever GL, use a Tyranitar--toss a golden razz, throw a curveball. A lesson to y'all, never underestimate Niantic's capacity to try to get y'all to raid all day everyday--cashing in your coins while also fishing for newbies

That's why the only extra passes I've gotten were from gift packs. Pretty idiotic to endlessly but raid passes.

Why is it idiotic to buy raid passes?
You are entitled to your opinion, but I am just trying to understand what would make a person think someone else spending their own money doing something they enjoy in their own private time would appear idiotic to someone.

The YouTube contributors and Silph want Niantic to be successful, it keeps their meager ships afloat. Their research most times will back Niantic's stated intentions. If you've never received an EX pass and you are raiding in a likely EX area...more isn't MORE. I've gotten 9 total invites...I only put real money into 1 account and got 1 invite from that moderate amount of real money. These last 5 invites caught total of 5000 Pokémon combined.

***basic point: Getting an EX pass is not akin to getting a Mary Kay Pink Cadillac. Playing is the reward, Mewtwo isn't granted b/c you raid grinded

I am lost...is this an answer to the question of why someone is considered idiotic for buying raid passes?

...if it is then do you realise that people bought raid passes before EX raids were a thing?
and EX raids are not the only reason people buy raid passes?
And the YouTuber part, I am not sure what that has to do with anything at all - no YouTuber anywhere anytime has had an influence on me choosing purchases from Niantic.

The most I have got from this is that you use multiple accounts and have got invites ( multiple invites ) on many if not all of them.
Do you not realise that you are the poster child for some of the frustration with the EX raid system?

10 accounts 9 EX invites--a level 27 got one 12/3 and 12/11--only repeating invite.

Well, sure I would trade my 5 EX raid passes to get 1 EX pass for the account I care about. I look to the positive about it though, even if it were to my main account---taking off work to attend is not a great idea. Neither is me worrying about maximizing my main account's chances to get its 2nd EX pass (got 1st one 9/21). I've concluded from my scientific study: Purchased coins and organizing raid chat groups don't increase the chances of getting an invite.

I might actually get the flu in January or my son might need me to take him to the doctor with those hours.

Good luck with your main account then

I would rather they delay Gen 3 to focus on fixing the frequent crashes, errors and other glitches.

A nerf to golden razzberry gym defence would also be most welcome.

"That's usually the last step before a new generation is released."
Considering there's been only one generation update before, I wouldn't jump to conclusions.
