Gen 3
Gonna be, if not already a lot of posts about Gen 3. But this is my question. Gen 2 took 3 months before they appeared after code. What is a good release time? November may be too early... It would be almost the beginning of winter. Dangerous move, although code has shown up i think with the amount of pokemon and how it is doubled, we may see the additional 2 baby pokemon then again see the rest around the end of winter. I think the wait will be longer than Gen 2. Do you all think it'll take the 3 months? If not more or less time?

Almost dead is a strong statement, but will see a decline for sure. Not just because of weather, nor end of legendaries, but School starts back up. you have less kids playing and colleges starting back up(most this week) I think they would be better off adding minor content that would not overhaul the game i.e. last year 7 day streaks, also the buddy system.
None are necessary. With the easy access to Candy for all pokemon, Stardust must remain hard to get. People have enough rare candy to fully evolve the gen 3 starters they first catch..... you want them fully powered already as well? Faster egg hatches will come soon enough obviously with the breakdown announcing such. what do you mean by rarer wilds? Like have rare pokemon in the wild?
Their go-to move has always been: double xp event and get 6 candies for catching a pidgey. If you haven't noticed that, then I'm not sure what to type. Rarer wilds...at the legendary stardust event I was seeing better wilds with the increased spawns, e.g. a 2050 Venusaur is not common in my Pokeworld.
Ok, go-to move.... what is next when they stick that stardust and candy as permanently doubled? then we will have events getting double off double what we get now.... If you want star dust that is because you are sitting on more pokemon you need to power up than you should have. listen, i am sure you have played tons of games, maybe even some MMORPGs. But one common theme with the downfall of these types of games is making it TOO EASY. I can get behind making gyms easier for the sake of everyone being able to enter the gym scene, but stardust is a different story, increasing it will destroy this game. People will have the tough pokemon and have them fully powered up? What then? Niantic has to keep the stardust to what it is to contain the crowd. I can power up a level 20 to a level 30 like once every 5 days. Just because you're getting all these legendaries you really really want to use right now doesn't mean stardust should be easier. Plus with the Increased spawns..... that's common sense, more spawns equals more chance for a rarer spawn. permanently increasing stardust will destroy this game and absolutely ruin the point of grinding anything.... only way i think stardust could be added with some containment is again questing, say it once a day. Add questing with some way to grab an additional 500 stardust a day. that is all.
I have 1 Moltres 2500 and a Lugia at 2335. I don't care about them or any other birds. This past 6 weeks I've gotten 5 TTs at level 30 and 6 Machamps to level 27, also got sidetracked with another Blissey. I'm just 18k from getting one final Dragonite to level 30. For the masses, this company likes to have an event every 3-4 weeks. Mewtwo can hold them over for a bit but people are going to get really mad (quitting mad) if they are excluded from the "exclusive raids" AND if there is nothing else special to do
People could be getting "quitting mad" over that or anything else Niantic has done, i am sure some people quit after the gym rework, i'm sure some quit after the raids and the integrity of Rare pokemon (Machamp, Ttar) But to speculate people will quit over something that isn't even fully explained is crazy. and having 5 Ttars at level 30 is what i am talking.... you don't find that excessive? after making gyms more diverse we still have people making a team of full Ttars. I won't lie, i enjoy my Ttar army and i like having 3 at 3000 plus right now..... But that is excessive, do you remember in the game or show anyone having so many of the same pokemon? AND that is why i suggest questing..... always something to do.
There were a ton of problems before gen 2 was released. How long it will actually have to take is pure speculation but I think comparing it to the release of gen 2 isn't really the same. They should be a smoother running group by now. Back then their own severs couldn't even keep up with the game to any extent. When the movesets are added to the code then we will know it is very close.
I anticipate legacy movesets just like gen 1 to 2 for 2 to 3. It was a pretty fun thing (for me at least) to chase new and better movesets. With TMs out now, you could feasibly build a stronger team than you have now extremely quickly with little investment if you are being reasonably stingy with your TMs.
Right. To introduce new mons with (possibly) better movesets would make previous gen mons often strictly inferior. I do not think that is their goal so they will update for every gen as needed.
If they change CP calculations, which they could, I do not think it would matter anymore. If they changed the calculation to better reflect defense in a game where defense is so limited now it would just be comical.
