Hey all. I was traveling so im a little out of date. Few days ago the players and websites was talking about an update for ~7/December with the 2nd Gen, PVP and Trade. I dont believe in trade, but PVP would be awesome. In my town we have a serious problem cuz we have only 1 Gym and 3 Pokéstops, they could start looking for this now :/. There are new informations about December updates?. Thanks.
All speculation from crappy sites. Forbes articles seem pretty reliable, less click bait.
I'm not saying it's not true, but they have no evidence of it whatsoever other than it being in the code. Saying it will happen this month is pretty negligent of them without stating a source.
Those exact same sites were wrong about the Thanksgiving event(bird spawns, double coins, etc) and constantly saying PvP, legendaries, and trading is coming "sooner than expected!" :)
There will surely be a holiday event later this month that would not surprise me if it came with a major update, I doubt that update would be 3 major new features, I would expect just one. Trading would fit best with the gift giving theme of the holidays and trading is reports to have been in the game code since the beginning but who knows.
I have no proof but I really think Gen 2 will come out shortly. There are 7 ish generations and at 2 gens per year this game will be 4 years old when it gets current. One generation a year would imply they expect this game to have a 7 year life which is crazy. Niantic is not stupid contrary to all the unemployed college kids with 0 work experience on Reddit. I think we should expect Gen 2 next week and a LB event for Christmas.
