Gardevoir: still worth it?

So the lack of a fairy quick move is a fairly hard pill for those of us that were hoping to see Gardevoir rise to become the dragon-slayer that it was supposed to be. However, just how far did the embrace pokemon miss the mark?

It has lower attack than Alakazam, but higher defenses and a fairy/psychic typing that double resists fighting types. This combined with a dual psychic moveset makes it seem like it might just be a solid offensive choice on Machamp raids, as well as other fighting types (I'm ignoring Mewtwo here, as OF COURSE its the best option). However, this wonderful typing also makes it potentially LESS viable than Alakazam, as its weakness to steel leaves it vulnerable to the ever annoying steel-coverage Machamp variants.

To make matters worse, the other type that Psychic is good against, Poison, is far better handled by Alakazam as Fairy is weak to poison, which pretty much renders it a lower attack/defense variant of Alakazam. But, again, the story flips here. If a poison type is carrying bug or dark coverage, Fairy's resistance to them makes the damage neutral.

Overall, Gardevoir seems terribly situational without a fairy quick move. I'm hoping for a moveset change similar yo Gyarados in the future. Otherwise, its only hope will be if we get mega evolution, at which time it will become a tank.

So any thoughts? Do you think that Gardevoir is worthless, or a less obvious gem that fills its own niche?

Like you mentioned it's typing is what makes it unique. As well, being a psychic hybrid that has a second typing that alleviate's the psychic portion's weaknesses to bug and dark types is certainly an advantage.

And following up on a lack of a fairy quick move, if she had a fairy quick move, maybe preferably one that has a much shorter cool down compared to confusion, she would be more potent
