Game freezing during raid bosses

Whenever I fight raid bosses I normally get some damage in very early and then I start to get the spinning white pokeball in the top left corner. Then for the next 10-30 seconds I can keep attacking but my moves don't do any damage and it seems as if the boss has stopped attacking. Then all of sudden the game will catch up and multiple pokemon will faint all at once. This is really annoying as it means I rarely get many balls for damage and I also don't contribute much to my team.

So my actual question is, is this a known bug? Because I don't see it on Niantics 'known issues' page, and everyone I play pogo with says that it doesn't happen to them. I know people get the occasional lag spike which causes their pokemon to suddenly faint but I'm talking about every single time at the exact same point in the fight and for a very long time. It's kind of discouraging as I'm trying to get a good team together/max out my pokemon and then people who have only been playing the game for a few months are doing more damage than me... Thanks.

you have lag, there are many causes.

an old phone can lag.

poor connection can lag.

check how much free memory your phone has, maybe time to delete some of those old songs and pictures.

That aside, I always restart the app before a raid battle.
I often clear the phone's cache.
Good to also actually do a full reboot of your phone at least once a week, and possibly each day.

Tried a Gengar today, third try. I really have a team that can manage but I just have to realize that iPhone6 + iOS 11 is not enough. Lagging, lagging, laggging. Today also one of the dodge bugs making my second Tyranitar just stand there and take damage before it fainted. Simulations say I should win in 148 seconds, but I'm left with a tiny fraction of red.

Btw, Houndoom with Snarl/Crunch i a really lousy animal against Gengar. Today I think it managed one single crunch before it fainted. (Today against Sludge Bomb)

That's usually a "network error". I got them all the time on my iphone 6.

But as for lag, this morning I had some crazy stuff happening. I was getting hit by a shadow ball that would kill one mon, then damage the one that just came in too. I had 5 level 30+ Ttars dead with 46 seconds left in the raid.

I had a problem a few hours ago. As soon as i got off the train i tried to attack the gym at the station. Each time i clicked "battle" 5 or 6 times the game just force closed itself at which point i left. Not sure if that was a ban for traveling too fast on the train or if it was a bug or a problem with my phone. Could spin the pokestop no problem at the gym and caught a pokemon no problem shortly after
