With the rerelease of it, and my own personal regrets at having only evolved a single Bulbasaur (it was a 98%, max attack, didnt know at the time it was 98, only max attack and hp) im wondering what to do with my shinies. I know frenzy plant is ridiculously strong, and doubt ill get another fantastic one as that 98% was from weather boost that day (and the forecast is predicted to be windy or snowy). So im wondering would it be better to simply evolve 2 of my highest level shinies and focus more on pokemon like beldum and larvitar or actively look for another great Bulbasaur? (I have 6, will have 8 Sd tyranitar, and currently 10 meteor mash metagross, with another shiny coming via trade)

This community weekend is too open ended for a definitive answer, it really depends on what (if any) days you missed or what Pokemon you feel you need more of. I could use the candy for Bulbasaur, Charizard, Dratini, Larvitar, and Beldum so I'll be targeting those the most. We also have zero idea how common each Pokemon will be, so expect plans and priorities to shift as a result.

If you fail to get anything with particularly impressive IVs then yes, go with the high-level options to minimize dust investments.

I've gotten all CD moves, only got one venasaur. I hope to get another good one, venasaur's my favorite of the kanto starters

I'm going to be targeting the pseudo's mostly, they're rare in the wild and every candy matters and I have a lot that need them

You should prioritize the pseudos since they are rare but at the same time if there is a pokemon dear to you focus on that too! Not everything is the meta, and besides ypu can only fit 6 MM Metagross or SD Ttars in a raid team. I'm focusing on getting BB Charizard, i already have a 98% Charmeleon ready to evolve and a shiny charmander but i want tp get a shiny with decent iv's. I could be a good idea to make a list of your objetives and tick them as you reach them since there is so much to do

Thats what im doing, number 1 priority is getting a good beldum however, favorite pokemon of all time (obviously) and its CD was the day my great CD iv lucky ran out. my best were 91%-84%. Doing mass trades with a friend on Saturday, hoping for a lucky.

After that, going for larvitar, Tyranitar's my third favorite pokemon hope shiny odds are boosted because hoping for a good shiny of both movesets (got a level 35, 60-70%,14/13 atk one set aside for that)

After that, order's Dratini (got SO many to power up) Bulbasaur, mareep, and Charmander. Stocking up on pinabs and clearing out/expanding so much space for the catches.

My bet is that you can probably catch every single Bulbasaur, Larvitar and Beldum, so you won't need to ignore any of them at all.

But if you do have to pick and choose, I'd focus on Trade-bait Bulbasaurs; tap on the Bulbasaur and catch any high level ones you can. Regardless of the IV's, evolve a few (depending on how many candies you have, naturally) and then next week offer them up as trade with people who might have caught high level other Pokémon.

Maybe you'll get Lucky.

My ideas about Community Weekend (CW):

The bonuses (double dust, double XP, double hatch walking (or 1/2 distance needed), etc., only occur during the normal CD hours on Saturday (US, Europe), or Sunday in Asia. Use those hours well. It's also possible that the enhanced spawns will peak during those hours.

For pokemon like Beldum and Tyranitar, you can only get the exclusive move during the weekend, so be prepared if you want it. Ttar is also good with B/C, but if you want that, no rush, evolve AFTER the CW.

For some pokemon (Dratini, Eevee), the exclusive move is a downgrade. Don't worry about evolving those, just get candy and catches.

Prepare pokemon to evolve. Just after Venusaur day, I caught a 98% Bulbasaur. Thought it would be pretty useless, now I can evolve it to FP at my leisure (since I have 300+ bulb candy). Same for two good Charmanders. All of them are marked with a tag (I used [+] ) after their names, so I can find them easily.

Another good strategy is to try and get some lucky stuff to evolve. It makes perfect sense to try and get lucky Beldum, Charmander, Larvitar, etc., in advance of the CW so you can get the exclusive move on them at your leisure. If you have a stock of non-ideal IV ones, this is a great time to trade them.

Access to the exclusive moves are great, although there aren't any of them that I'm missing enough to focus on. Only got a few Venusaurs, but I'll get another, and FP Sceptile will be way better.

So for me, the best part of this event will be the chance to find Larvitar, Beldum, Dratini in the wild at increased rates, and that will last for the whole event of 58 hours, not just 3 hours. Plenty of time to fire off incense while walking the dog in my limited spawn point neighborhood and rake in good stuff. Hoping to get a lucky Metagross or Tyranitar (or three) out of it all, given all the time for trading, as well as a possible Ttar raid.

Note that it's also possible that other pokemon from the event will be available in raids - all three of all the gen 1 starter's evolutions have been available in raids at one point or another, as have Ttar, Dratini, Raichu (maybe not relevant), and maybe a few others. With Ttar, this is particularly useful, since we'll have 58 hours to do Ttar raids, catching a level 20 TTar (25 if buffed) with a floor of 10 and Smack Down, saving 125 candy by getting it pre-evolved. Even if the IVs are bad, they make great trade candidates, and could also be shiny maybe.

And for those of you who care about shinies, they should be more prevalent too.

Happy hunting.

Exclusive Moves is the reason why I don't evolve anything.
