Finally caught ditto

Just several minutes ago, I just caught my first ditto by catching a CP 10 Pidgey with a Poké ball, it then turns into a CP 10 level 1 ditto. Is the level of ditto determined by the Pokémon's level it transformed into?

Is it worth power up more? It is current CP 37 at level 2.5. Or try to find another ditto with higher CP?

Its IV is between 51.1% and 64.4%.

Ditto's seem cute but otherwise of limited value as either a real defender or attacker. Also from thread below seems like they're not even of use in "Ditto-strat"

Save the Ditto but do not power up. He is of no value as Gym defender or attacker.

For defender, probably. I have a 91% IV Ditto and it already has 2 Battles won. Probably some unprepared fella tried to kick me out whatever. For attack, I use mine to copy strong Pokémon and it works out fine. Not as strong as the original but can still kick ass. Though I use mine mainly for fun which is I believe, the essence of any game.

I can't see any feasible reason for investing in an extremely low level, poor IV gimmick of a Pokemon. You'll certainly stumble upon more dittos in the future but they'll still have about 0 use in just about everything
