Field research on CD?

During Community Day the Field Research tasks are changed to stuff like "Catch 3 Larvitar" (or whatever the current CD Pokemon is). But I've got a couple of questions about it.

1. Do we get those tasks even before the CD starts or are the tasks the ones we see every day and are then switched as CD starts?

2. If the tasks are the common ones before it starts, if I then spin a Pokestop before the CD starts, discard the task I get and then spin it again after CD has started, will I get a Community Day task?

The reason why I ask is because I need to pick up more balls before the event starts and I was thinking of being early and spin loads of stops before the CD starts. But I don't want to do any common tasks I get from those stops because I want to get CD tasks from all of them.

1. Nope, the tasks will switch over from the normal ones available to CD tasks as soon as the event starts.

2. You should be able to discard the regular tasks after the event starts and pick up event tasks from those same stops. Just to be safe though, I would discard all regular tasks one minute before the event starts so you have room for the event tasks. If you complete regular tasks before the event starts, I don't think you'll be able to pick up new tasks from those same stops.

This. Plus if you're able to, you may wanna stock up on balls today and get it over with so you don't have to worry about it tommorow

You could always keep your field research tasks full with tasks that wont get completed by just spinning a bunch of stops. For example, fill your inventory with "Battle in a raid" "Complete a raid" "Battle a gym" "Use berries" "power up pokemon". If you get a quest that you think could get completed while spinning stops (Spin 6 PokeStops you haven't visited before) then discard it immediately and check the next one you get. Then as BlameScott mentioned discard them 5mins before the event starts. I usually close my app and start it up again as soon as the event is suppose to start.
