the Few against Many powerup

today I caught this Snorlax
hp at df: 12 15 13 %89
ZenHeadbutt HeavySlam
...a wonder...except level 16!
I'm level 36, have 137 candies and already:
1) lv.33 3012cp 98% Zh Eq
2) lv.33. 2902cp 71% Zh Hb
3) lv.27 2493cp 61% L Bs
should invest my candies onto the 3 above (especially number 3 to 29xx for 56 candies)?
Would you consider powering up a level 16 Snorlax with stunning IV and Zh Hs?
level 33 and 2991cp is 114 candies far...
Investing onto it would mean not going beyond level 33 with the other top2
...so what's better 2 level 35+ or 3 level 33?

only continue to power up #1, but unless you need the cp for gym placement, don't power up any of these until the gym rebalance.
for me, I brought the snorlax that have to lvl 30, then only have powered up the best iv ones as needed for gym placement (my highest IV is low 80s)

as far as it goes for power up the one very high or many at high: it all depends on your local gyms.
once again, the future gym rebalance could change everything. So it is better to have available candy in order to react to future changes.

I'd power up the new one and continue to walk snorlax. ZH HS is my favorite moveset for snorlax.

This. I've been strictly walking Chansey since around the Christmas event and now have a 2.9K ZH/DG Blissey :D

I hope you're talking about favorite current moveset :) Because Body Slam outperforms Heavy Slam in every way - it's faster, it has 3 charges, and it does similar damage after STAB. I also prefer Hyper Beam even if it's worse on defense because 1) it's more usable on offense (HS is very depressing), and 2) many people either don't dodge or dodge the entire charge move because they don't know the window and end up wasting a bunch of time they could be attacking.

FWIW I have a 3K+ ZH/HB and ZH/HS Snorlax

To add to your argument for Hyper Beam, another issue is the dodge bug where you could dodge perfectly but still take full damage before the server actually knows what's going on. Taking full damage from a Snorlax Hyper Beam is probably more than enough to faint a large number of attackers (who presumably are already hurt in the time it took Snorlax to charge that Hyper Beam), triggering the fainted/not-fainted loop, which also runs the risk of timing out attackers against high level Snorlaxes, and usually ends up in at least one attacker fainting or taking damage when they shouldn't have. It's infuriating to deal with as an attacker, but as a defender you might as well take advantage of it.

I think it just really depends on your area. 2900 cp would get me towards the top of most gyms around here, so I would go for 3. I'm powering up a Tyranitar for if I really need a gym topper.

But what if Tyranitar turns out to only be an attacker after the gym rebalance? Keep your candy in your bag for a while.

I don't play the game based on what ifs. I have my own ideas about what the changes will be but the reality is that no one knows what they will be. You also have no idea when this gym update will happen...it could be 6 months...

I would only power up 1 for now and this new one...Again, all this depends on your gym area and if you need more defenders, but since Rhydon is fairly close to Snorlax in max CP and Rhyhorn candy is easy to get, I'd be hesitant to power up any Snorlax with weak IVs too.

Again, the gym rework may change everything, but we sorta also play for the now so if you need gym coins/dust now, I'd power up the new one and ignore 2...

2902 CP is near bottom or off a gym already in my area so weak IVs aren't worth it, AGAIN, IN MY AREA....

At the higher levels, candy requirements are very high so wasting it on poor IVs one is not worth it IMO.

I hatched 1 Snorlax so far and don't do a thing with it...(in the low 80s I think)...
