Fate of Prestige Champions?

Hey there. I have a beastly collection of low cp prestigers that I worked very hard on optimizing. Are they now doomed to be discarded? Totally useless at this point? Will appreciate your input.

I trashed some with lower IV's for space but am keeping a few with a wait and see what else might come attitude.

I'm saving a bunch to see if there is any double candy for the anniversary event.

Some of my prestigers that are good IVs and movesets I may keep as they have 1000s of battles won. But the rest will eventually be transferred. Might keep the best ones as as a memory of what once was.

My 1185CP Vape probably has most battles won of any pokemon I own. Thousands of Rhydons fell...

If you have room and can afford to keep them around, I recommend to see what happens after the anniversary event ends and make your decision from there. I personally am still holding on to my prestige collection.

Might keep a few - certainly high IV - but will transfer most of them for lack of space.

I don't think the old system will come back.

I try to develop one of each type of Mon to be best at what it is. So, I will keep wigglytuff, lanturn, etc, but I will ditch low cp duplicates as I need space. I powered up a low cp ms/eq rhydon, because it is very useful for raid battles.

A LOT of my Prestigers just got a name change and are now gym defenders. In my area, a 1200-1600 CP mon seems to be able to stay in a gym long enough to get at least 20 minutes, and sometimes a couple of days :(. But, they don't usually get stuck there for more than a few hours. I can get into 6 gyms per day, and if any of them DO get stuck, I never miss them.
