exploit? Bug?

While renaming by corresponding ivs I had a 5k egg very close. I named a machop "machop91" I clicked on ok but it lagged and would not continue so I cancelled. And it went through.

5 seconds later the egg hatched and said "machop91" hatched, I thought wtf. So I sorted by recent and it was counted as my most recent. No other new mons. It did not duplicate. Just moved.

It claimed I got candy for the hatch but I did not pay attention beforehand so I can't confirm. The egg may have also been a machop and been a bug and I lost an egg, or maybe naming it at the exact same time did something and replaced the hatched mon with machop.

I can't be the only one. Could be a way to get candy, if so it needs to be patched.
