Exeggutor with Confusion/Psychic

Finally got exeggcute from egg with pretty good IV and evolve into exeggutor. Aimed for x/solar beam but got confusoin/psychic move set. Should I leave it (it's 1600+ cp) or power up? In what he can be good at?

It's a very good defender, that's the best moveset for that purpose, I have one just like that full powered up.

Because Confusion is perfect for the gym AI and both confusion and psychic have STAB and gives a chance of protecting from his most popular conunter: Arcanine

My favourite egg counter: Pinsir. I even powered one up just for that purpose that is now one of my highest CP Pokémon...ups

Scyther is even a better Exeggutor counter, but both of them are punished with relative low CP and with "fury cutter" that needs fast taps on the screen

Against Exeggutor, X Scissor ends up being a better move due to it not wasting energy while still allowing dodges because you can use it in between all of Exeggutor's attacks.

Bug Buzz does do more DPS over X Scissor however you're probably not going to use it every time it's available which leads to energy waste and DPS loss because you're using your quick move over your charge move.

Also Pinsir has higher attack stat, and X Scissor on Pinsir will still deal more DPS than Bug Buzz on Scyther.

It depends. If exeggutor defending has zen headbutt it can be tricky to use x scissor AND dodge. That's why I think zen headbutt is a better defensive move. And same with dragonite. I can use dragon claw in between steel wing 100% of the time and still dodge whereas if I'm battling against dragonite breath often times I will get hit when I try to dodge.

Exeggutor is very much like lapras in the way that it doesn't have a bad moveset. The one on yours is actually decent, especially for defending. And since cp is important for defending Pokémon I'd say power up that crazy son of a bitch

Yes, you are right. But it's nowhere near twister on Gyarados or megahorn on Nidoking.

Hahaha, I did actually hatch my first lapras with dragon pulse. I was still very happy with it. Fortunately I hatched one with a better moveset eventually.
