EX Raid pass when bag is full

Haven't received a EX raid pass yet. So had this doubt in my mind, whether do you receive the pass even if the storage is full, because mine is full most of the times. And yes I do raid in EX eligible gyms regularly.. Has anyone received it before in such a case?

Pretty sure my bag was full when I got my pass last week.

No it doesn't matter. That's like asking if raids will still give you rewards if your bag is full which they do. I've gotten some while my bag's full.

EX passes also do not count as items in your bag, similar to gifts.

AFAIK they count toward your bag inventory but having a full bag doesn't disqualify you from getting one.

They don’t. I have chronic bag management issues and was wondering if they took up space. So I watched my item count at the last EX raid I could not attend. When the raid expired and the pass went away, my item count did not change.
