Ex raid invites

My son and I both received an ex raid invitation to the same gym on same day. Can we invite each other so that we have 2 ex raid passes for the same raid? In other words I will have 2 of the same ex raid passes for that gym and do it twice? Has anyone tried that?

Try it yourself and you will get the answer.
Niantic will tell you that you have that ex raid already

Can you complete any raid in a gym twice? Same here.
However if you target different EX elegible gyms the next week and you get invitations for different gyms, you would be able to invite each other and complete two EX raids in a day (if raids schedule are compatible, etc).
