Evolve a Perfect Magikarp?
Level 36 Trainer
Caught a perfect IV Magikarp (Level 17 - CP 107) that I nearly transferred without even looking! lol
I already have the following Level 31 Gyarados:
- 96% IV - DT/H
- 96% IV - B/H
- 93% IV - DT/C
Should I evolve now (I have about 510 candy) or should I wait until the next move update (if/when it happens)?
I don't know much about all of Gyarados' potential moves so help is appreciated - thanks!

its perfect, you got the candy...why not ?
I would be tempted anyway.
no doubt there will be some reasons people give to not do it....Gyarados not being that good etc etc...
but currently strong attackers are better than defenders it seems...so you can use him as an attacker in fights where you pick the matchup.
Anyway, if you aint gonna evolve a perfect pokemon then when are you ? the idea of waiting for a moveset change seems abit too future sighted, who knows when that could be and if it will even be a buff or a nerf to him overall.
PLUS TM's exist now, so no matter what happens, you will be able to get the moves on him that you want in the long run
OP doesn't necessarily have to wait for a move set change. If I had the same perfect magikarp I personally would still wait on investing in it (mainly because I would rather spend my precious dust in something else). There's no real urgency to be using a gyarados, let alone OP shared that they have several. It would be a nice project to work on but I'd probably be saving some stardust for legendaries, and I do not believe that is being too future sighted.

Thanks for the replies! Many good points here - especially since I have the candy and option to change it later. Most importantly, I don't have to use Stardust on this yet! Also, who knows if I'll still be playing in X months time... hah
I evolved and got Dragon Tail and Outrage! Will power up over time! :D
