Evolve or wait?

I have several new Pokemon to evolve right now.
E.g. there is my First steelix and scizor..
Since machop&abra candys are super rare here im thinkin about to evolve thise and few several others which - i already have, too.

Now, as a lot of stuff is going on right now.
Does anyone think there is a 2x XP event or some new movesets coming?

Would be pretty sad if so announced after evolving my rares..

Possibly 1 year Celebration event. As i recall Pokemon Go was first introduced early July. I would wait til Mid July to be honest.

Ahh 1 year is on it's way.. pretty sure this is going to be an Event.. Almost forgot about that.

I'm hoping for one at least. Just a gym rework is pointless.

If new movesets are introduced with the anniversary update (I personally don't think there will be new moves) then it would be wise to evolve now incase any of the legacy moves become useful (e.g. Dragonbreath on dragonite and body slam on Snorlax). Since TM's are now in the game, it doesn't matter nearly as much if one obtains a lesser desirable moveset, as raids will allow the chance to obtain a TM to roll until you obtain that moveset you want.

In regards to a double xp event, it's possible, but I doubt it due to the recent triple xp event for throws (although the eggstravaganza was not too long ago!)
