Evolve my 100% magikarp now or later

TodayI caught a 45/45 or a 100% IV magikarp. Got 450 candies for it and ready to evolve.

My question is whether to evolve it now and take my chances to now get a bite and hopefully non-twister gyarados. Or to evolve it after the new moves are implemented, assuming Gyarados will receive a second quick move. (eg dragon tail??) I am not aware what moves gyarados learns in the normal games since I did not play these games.

I know there is no indication this will happen ( gyarados getting a 2nd quick move) but what are the chances. Should this influence my decision to evolve it?

If it were mine, I would evolve.

It'd take some time to get the new patch or new moves...
I'd be undecisive too but what's your expectation?
still there is no perfect moveset gyarados and that makes it little less valuable than other hydro pump users in my opinion (cuz it does not get STAB from its quick move, with that said gyarados is still one of the fierce attackers , you could go for it and evolve it or wait for some time , it's up to you..)

Do you have another Gyarados already? I have one with Bite/Hydro Pump and one with Bite/Dragon Pulse, so I would wait.

In the main games, Gyarados can learn Dragon Tail (new quick move) and Crunch (new charge move). If there are any changes in Gen1 movesets, then it seems very likely that Gyarados will be getting Dragon Tail as a second quick move and possible that it will get Crunch replacing a charge move - hopefully Twister.

We do not know how strong the new moves are yet, but going just on typing Bite/Crunch and Dragon Tail/Dragon Pulse would be nice single type attacking movesets.

I already have 2 other gyarados both with bite/twister. 87% and 91% ivs.

I would wait. (Especially if you don't have enough candy to power it up directly.)

Depends a bit on the kind of person you are... Personally, I would evolve it now. It's a game, enjoy it. Own your decision, do it and love it.

We don't know when Gen 2 is coming, we don't know if Gyarados will get a different moveset, and even if it does, there is no guarantee that you wouldn't get Bite / Twister even if you wait...

Gyarados has tremendous value given the high CP, with any moveset. Don't know what level your magikarp is, but maybe try to save enough candy to power up to 2800 CP after you evolve? This would give you great gym placement anywhere.

But then again, if you are the kind of person who would worry and then look back when Gen 2 comes out and regret your decision, I would wait.
