Evolve a L30 Abra 9a15d13s?

Will you evolve this abra?

I probably won't invest further stardust and candies after evolving. Is such alakasam useful in current meta?

It's attack is too low for a Alakazam, Zam is mainly used as a generalist and sweeper of weakened Gyms, but in that aspect is surpassed by Dragonite, is also used for raiding Machamp, and to a lesser extent, Gengar (FB only), if you have plenty of Abra candies it's worth evolving, but not investing

Why so many down votes? Attack stat is relevant in every mon, it's like you say, "Mewtwo is the Pokemon with the highest attack in the game so I will power up one with 5 ivs attack... just because is Mewtwo.." so, what is it?

Attack stat is beneficial on every Pokemon but doesn't mean each Pokemon benefits equally from it.

Alakazam already has high attack that the relative difference from IVs is lower than on Pokemon with lower attack.

Your point about someone powering up a Mewtwo even if it had low attack IV is just proving the same idea - Pokemon that already have high base stats but low IVs are not significantly worse than the same Pokemon with 15 in that IV.

Whereas something like a Chansey 15 attack is much more important because it's base attack stat is only 60, 15 attack IV is a 25% increase in it's attack while 15 attack IV on an Alakazam is only a 5.5% increase.

Also in the case of Alakazam against a Machamp raid which is presumably what most people want one for, Psycho Cut doesn't increase in damage until at least level 34 with 14 attack IV, which is unnecessary to power Alakazam that high since Machamp is an easy boss.

For Confusion, it's a difference between 27 and 28 damage per use of the move, which is not as significant because Confusion is a slower move and also already does high amounts of damage

Going from 27 to 28 damage is only a 3.7% increase, while going from 7 to 8 is a 14.3% increase in damage, but is unnecessary. If your Alakazam is at such a high level and your other 5 Pokemon are also decent then soloing Machamp should be quite easy even against Dynamic Punch - I soloed one with BP/DP with 6 level 30 Pokemon.

I think I would. Alakazam has very high base ATK so the ATK iv's are less important for him imo.

I don't think so, in that case you should have probably powered mons with 8 ivs attack imo

If you need Pokemon to help you solo Machamp raids, I'd evolve it. I'd rather use 60 more candies and save 75k dust instead of powering up an Alakazam from a raid.

All depends on your abra candy situation. I personally find Alakazam to be vastly overrated. If you have somewhat easy access to abra candy than sure, evolve it. At worst it's XP for an evolution and a level 30 Alakazam.

Well if you have candy go for it

The person who disliked this i would like to know whats wrong with my comment. Please share some of your knowledge with us!

I literally got +2k abra candy. If i get a level 30 abra with good stats i just roll the dice and try to get a good skill set. If not well gotta catch another one!

I've got a Lv 30 10a/15d/10s Alakazam and it works great. Was fortunate to have PC/FS though. Not a candidate for further improvement though.

With Mewtwo hopefully around the corner I don't see myself maxing out any Alakazam, so having an Abra that's already level 30 with no stardust investment is a great substitute until Mewtwo arrives for doing things like Machamp raids where level 30 is sufficient.

Thank you for your views.

Got a C/FS alakazam. Will give it a test drive soon.

Kudos to that one. Excellent choice. I use a 67%, att 9, lvl 30.5 Ala in my Machamp team. Works just as well as my 14 attack one. With the right team mates Machamp is history.
