Evolve Geodude now?

I was lucky enough to find a 100% Geodude yesterday and immediately thought about evolving it. But then two silly thoughts popped up in my head, so I waited and now have to ask you two things.

1. Does geodude get another evolve in later generations?
2. Will we be able to evolve a "normal" Geodude into an Alolan Golem when it's released?

I'm fairly sure that the answer to both questions are "No", but I thought I might as well ask here to be sure.

The answer to 1 is definitely no. The answer to 2 is most likely no, but no one knows. Geodude should get his own distinct alolan form that evolve to alolan golem, and so far it seems there is no way to evolve exeggcute to alolan eggy.

Unless you are raiding Ho-ohs with few people, you probably dont need Golem right now. So you might as well wait until Alolan golem comes out, then you will be sure.

1. No it does not.
2. No you won't Alolan Golem, comes from Alolan Geodude, its a fully Alolan evolutionary line.
So the only reason to possibly save it is if you think it might get a Community Day with a better move of some kind.

My continued hope is that if/when other rock pokemon eventually get Smack Down/Stone Edge, Golem can get Rock Throw/Rock Slide to maintain some relevance since Rock Slide is a stronger move than Stone Edge.
