Evolution items/Certain biomes?
Now I'm trying to figure out if certain evolution items are just a random drop from any pokestop or a pokestop in a certain biome.
My only reason for possibly believing they could be found at specific biomes is because I live on the east coast and usually play in a town that's right on the south shore.
Now I usually hit all the stops through this town more then once, some of the stops are near docks, marina's, maritime museums etc. so it's more of a water biome but we do have grass and ground type spawn pretty frequent, along with ice type (during winter atleast).
So since gen 2 has released, I have only mainly played in this area and the only evolution items I got were 4 kings rock and 2 metal coats.
Now, I'm not sure if that could be rng luck but 4 kings rocks where slowpoke and poliwag are pretty common just points more to me thinking there biome specific. The metal coats had me second guessing but there was a spawn point that scyther was spawning awhile back and there was a onyx nest at one of the stops during the Valentine's Day event so it could be possible.. You guys tell me what you think of it. Maybe I just got lucky getting them but the fact I got them all from stops in one town makes me think otherwise.

Ok thank you maybe then they aren't biome dependent, just a weird coincidence possibly though the only way I got those two metal coats was one was random and the other I got the night gen 2 released and it was my 7 day streak. Besides that never seen a scyther nest besides that one spawn point which was back during the Christmas event. There have been reports of scyther nests in other towns near me but never went there during it (kind of wish I did now..)
It may well be biome dependent. I also got 2 king rocks from pokestops near water, where poliwag and slowpoke are the most frequent Pokemon. On the first day of Gen2 got 2 metal coats in the same city but further from water proximity. Although the drop rates n the first day were apparently too high and were immediately reduced.
