Evolution item every 7th day Pokestop streak
So, is it good or not?
Personally I get, why Niantic did something about it but, I don't get, why you are now guaranteed that many. The items just went from special to zero value. In my oppinion it should be more like 12 - 24 guaranteed a year instead of the around 50 now.
I should probably add, that I've gotten 15 so far and only need one of the evolutions requering evolution items bc, that I don't have candy enough for the last one.

Actually no and sorry you seem very prejudiced only bc, I wrote about my 15 evo items. What I wrote is based on my oppinion in general. If I had gotten fewer, I would still think the same but of course you are right, that I also want it to be that way even more, bc I got those items, when things were different than now.
Well they should be banned instead.
But let's face it - after 2017 everbody will have several of all the evolutions that needs these items, that are now not hard at all, to get. So then, tell me the point of it? Spin a stop each day now more than ever? These Pokemon are not even the best ones in the game, so the extra time it takes for some, compared to others, to get them doesn't really matter that much. The game is very easy already.
It's good. wth? Let me present you with a dilemma. All clues lead to breeding. e.g. Genders, Ditto, etc. Now breeding isn't gonna be good because we can hatch most of the Pokémon we wanted? Wouldn't that invalidate rare spawns? Bottom line is we still have to work for it. 7 day streak means you have to at least go out every day and spin at least a single stop.
you already have fucking 15 ITEMS? now thats a lucky bastard, i only got 2 and one of them i got on the first week of gen2 when it was guaranteed.
The odds of getting one is less than 1%, much less actualy and even for hours everyday,, most of people won't have the all the items.
I think is pretty fair, but i would put something like 50% chance of getting these items on the 7th spin just to delay the Dex completation.
I see no problem with rewarding the most dedicated players.
I did expect them to save evolution items for an event where the chances are increased during the event duration.
It is entirely possible that someone could get every 7 day spin for a while, and still not get all the evolutions they want simply because they don't get the exact items they want or need.
since gen2 i've had 2 metal coats, 3 upgrades (i don;t have a porygon yet...) and one sun stone. not had a single evo item in last 2 weeks. i for one welcome them being on 7day spin as at least it's consistent even if chances are you won;t get the one you need.
frankly all of the evo items will become quickly useless as none of the 'mons from them are worth using other than to fill the pokedex, but random chance meant some complaining about them wasting inventory space and others like myself getting unusable items or going long periods without finding any.
I spin a TON of stops and have only gotten 6, and 4 have been the same (up-grade). I just got back from a one week vacation where I must have spun 100+ a day (had a pokestop accessible from our room), and during that time I got 2.
So for me, this seems a bit rash... Why not just double the drop rate?
But I think they realized it is overall a better idea to give people an incentive to play regularly. None of the evolutions requiring a special item are really game changers in gyms, so it's all for fun and show.
I agree with the OP. I'm a totally legitimate player, and I've gotten plenty of them, I think 16 total. They have come in streaks: none for a long time, and then two or three close together. The only special evolvable mon I don't have is Sunflora, due to lack of enough candies.
I do need another Dragon Scale and one or more Up Grades, as I have a second 100% IV Seadra to evolve, plus several Porygons from the Valentine's event. But I'm willing to wait for them & don't really need Niantic to deflate their rarity.
I'm trying to figure out what competitive advantage bioweapon is referring to. My two Slowkings are cool, but no better in battle (worse, actually) then my best Slowbros. My two Scizors, my Steelix, and my Kingdra are fun to use in certain situations, but I have other more mundane mons that can do the same job as well or better. Bellossom? Uh, no. Even with 100% IV's, it is a rather mediocre grass prestiger compared to others I have in the same CP range. Similar story with my CP 1334 Politoed with two ground moves. I keep waiting for a chance to try out my dark/electric Porygon2 against a Slowbro, but other than that, I can't think of any "competitive advantage" it gives me. And I don't even think I will evolve my 100% SW/BB Scyther, as it has a legacy moveset, and I'd be afraid of getting Night Slash.
I don't think, that it's a big problem, but I would rather have seen it being half of that, but true not all can get 7 day streaks all the time, you can get dubs, bad movesets, you still need candy and stardust etc. Maybe I underrestimated it. But like I said, I totally get, why Niantic would want to keep all the players happy. In the end it's better if most people can get most of all 8 in this year.
