Event question

I am aware there can't be much data on this but there is a chance since this is not the first time we have had six hour lures. Hypothetically let's say I drop a lure thirty minutes before the event ends. When the event closes will the lure go away or stick around for an additional 5 hours? If no one has an answer I will test.
