Why do people prefer Psychic over Psybeam on Espeon? I see a lot of players talking about Psybeam as an excellent Charge TM candidate, but I can't see how Psychic is better, neither on defence or attack.

Psybeam is too slow for a two-bar move (CD = 3.2s). The DPE is ok but you will take 3.2s for 70 damage while Psychic take 2.8s for 100 damage.

Yes, Psychic is nice. I have a 2610CP Alakazam PC/P and i'll never try a TM for FS on him. Good enough.

When it's evolves from eevee?

That depends. E.g i have a 96% ivs 15/15/13 Espeon ZH/PB which i evolved from a level 30 Eevee ready to fight. Actually i cant find high level Eevees with great ivs like this to walk 10km and evolve, so if i get some extra TMs i would think about change Psybeam.

My bad makes sense. Saved 30 or so high IV+CP Eevees before gen 2 so got more or less decent eevees right away.

Just personal use, seems like a good attacker like Espeon wastes its attack on psybeam. When i used it, too slow. Not enough damage done with it. Every has different experiences with it though.
