Electric pokemon

Why are electric pkm so underpowered?! I have a Raichu 1403 CP, 93% iv with Spark and Thunder and it struggles to beat any vaporeon or water pkm at any CP. Electric pkm should resist water(not effective), but the damage that it takes is normal. WTF?! Any buff in the near future?!

  1. low hp pokemon is useless
  2. Speed dont play a big part in damage calculation

Niantic just copied pokemon base stats from the other games. As Chinsky pointed out, Speed (which was where electric pokemon were really strong) is completely ignored in pokemon go, and no other base stats were increased to compensate.
However, because Gyarados exists, electric pokemon aren't completely useless. It's so satisfying to see his hp bar melt as Thunder hits him for 156% damage...

That's for sure. For vaps and other water types I prefer to use grasses. But against Gyarados, electrics are the best.

That's exactly why I gave up on my electric pokemon. If you want to take out Vaps, the grass types (with grass moves) work much better - Exeggutor in particular. I have also used a Tangela (armed with two grass attacks) around 1000 CP to take out Vaps up to around 1600. That requires dodging pretty well and good timing, but it is possible and a great way to level up a gym with a relatively low CP Vap at the bottom.

My 1200 cp solar beam lame IVs tangela eats 2000-2300 vaporeons for breakfast.

Should anyone doubt it, I'll gladly post some screenshots... haha xP
