Egg Hatching Pokemon?

Are pokemon that come from eggs determined the moment you grab them from pokestops, or does the location where you hatch them have an influence on the outcome?

Where you grab them. Near lake will get you krabby and tentacool etc. Some disagree. I only get mine from lake and I get a ton of water type.
The one time I went to city I got more than a couple I had never got after hundreds of hatches.

I hatch all on my road.

What about your 10kms and 2kms? Were you hatching water pokes as well? ie. Lapras & Dratini, and Magikarp & Squirtle

A LOT of magikarp, weedle, pidgey, maybe 1 or 2 squirtles(out of tons of eggs, more bulbasaurs than squirtles for sure). I recall 3 evees, dratini, scyther, and lapras from lake 10s.
Both 10s from city were onix and my first Pikachu from 2.

Side note: people say egg distance is rng, I find this very false. In the beginning I got 10s regularly. Then I went to lake and filled up at least 7 or 8 times in a row getting 12 or so eggs each time (hatching 2ks before leaving) with ZERO 10s.

Got frustrated, went to town square first 2 stops were 10s. Then next time I went to lake I got 3 more 10s. You have to change it up.....even if it's a long long drive. Hope I helped.

If it's truly random I'm cursed with krabbys, tentacools, and seakings. Evolved 5 or 6 of each just from eggs. Even evolved a gyrados with no spawn from 2k eggs.

But yet 1 growlithe, 1 Pikachu, 1 vulpix. Seems pretty lopsided from 300 plus eggs.

its been months when this game released, up to now there is no research on hatching that comes to a conclusion, so its still a random event in somehow

Immediately after posting krabby/water comment. Their research needs work.
