Eevee question
So I have acouple 80%+ iv eevee's and a 100% iv one. 3 of them sit in the cp range of 540-530 cp range while my 100% one sits at 72cp... Eevee candy isn't a issue but I don't want to waste it on low cp evolutions and am not sure if I should waste half my candy and dust just to power up the 100 iv one. Any tips would be helpful. Also I still am waiting to do my gen2 eeveelutions but I want to have atleast 80% or higher iv's and a high cp.

It does make a difference to attack with a CP2000 Jolteon or to attack with a CP2350 Jolteon into gyarados.
Often, a gyarados is killed by a very slim margin before it unleashes his hydro pump. We have a dodging bug, and a hydropump (no matter if dodged or not) renders one jolteon death or useless unvisible.
Indeed, i like my jolteon, but powering it up might have been a rational decision.
I took my only 100% Eevolution, Jolteon, and maxed him. Even though I have a bunch of Jolteons I often face a bunch of Gyradoses. No matter how many they put in there I only really need one Jolt. They never get HP. He's 2500something and I do not regret it one bit. He sees more use than my high CP Flareons or Vapes by a lot and only takes one attacker space letting me have more sledgehammer generalist options in my group or letting me add an extra specialist.
Straight ahead until I see some kind of special coming. With TB this lets me build up my specials very quickly. Then I drop one on the current opponent and have one loaded for the next. Then I am more careful with the third since I am coming into this fight more lean with health sometimes. This is more often the case now that some have DT and not bite.
You may be right, but still I see no reason. Just put more Jolteons with mediocre CP on your attacking team. If they faint use revive and pot all time. Maybe you will perform worst on attacking (killing less of defender pokemons), but still, this is better than powering up a Jolteon in my view.
When you can have 10,20,30 or more Jolteons in your team just makes no sense for me to power up one.
My gym-battling is ressource-limited. I would battle more, if i had unlimited potions and revives. So, your battling strategy does not match to my profile.
Sidenote: Putting more mediocrate jolteons leaves less room for other attackers - no complete clear with no bonus, more time to setup the next round....
Sometimes i use a suicide strategy, mostly when prestiging. Then, the revive and heal back part is not applied. :-)
Without knowing if your Eevee situation is similar to mine or not I'm going to guess from your "candies are not an issue" comment that it may be.
I quit spending dust on Eevees a long time ago. There is one in every group spawn of 7-8...often two or three even. Every Eevee that I see I click on. If it is above 700CP I catch it and evolve it. I have 52 2000Cp Eevolutions that cost me nothing in dust and the candy has no real value here. They act as my back up potion storage tbh.
Yeah tell me how I had a 750+ cp Eevee a day or two ago and wish I didn't just evolve it could of made that one of my gen2 eevees. Did get almost a 2200 flareon out of it though.. I guess I should of put that im level 29 so I see 600-700+cp eevees in the wild from time to time just half of them are garbage iv's for the most part lol
But we are talking attackers here in the case of Jolt and Flareon for sure. Those IVs make no difference really. And they are free. At level 30 you probably have or will soon have better defenders than Vape too. Honestly, if I was in your shoes I would evolve the 100% just to see if I got a very special moveset regardless of which mon it was. I would then bring him up as a luxury because 100% Mons are special to me. But to put that kind of dust into a mon you can catch in the wild and have a similar mon of...or 52 of them...I can't do it. I did it on several at the start of my game which I really regret. I have wild caught mons that have now passed some of them and I wasted god knows how much on them. I also made a case for powering up one or two specialists of the eevolutions above if you can afford such a luxury and if your gym scene makes it worthwhile to you.
If the 100% one turn to be a Vaporeon with the move set you want I would probably waste the stardust to power up him all the way.
About the others I'd wait for a better Evees if you are not in a hurry for Vaporeons.
And of course if they turn to be Jolteon or Flareon just leave them alone and use for attacking.
I'd love to have a 100% Espeon. One option is to use the name trick for your 100% to guarantee you get a good pokemon like an Espeon.
Then make it your project over time to slowly power him up as you collect stardust.
I've evolved two 100% eevees only for them both to end up as Jolteons. So sad. I'd use a name trick if I were you.
