Eevee evolutions
Are they still random? I just evolved my 13th eevee since the gen 2 update and all were gen 1. I dont wanna waste the name trick til i get a really good one but i am curious if its still random bc my outcome seems very unlikely

i understand your concern because i had 98% and 100% IV eevees that i wanted to make into umbreon and espeon, respectively. i was super nervous about the 10km-day/night thing but can tell you from personal experience that it does indeed work. to ensure no unexpected errors, i just made sure to walk a little bit more than 10km with the intended eevee as my buddy and i evolved straight from the buddy screen-- never switching buddies. evolving when it was night time in the game gave me umbreon, and evolving during the day gave me espeon. it works!
