Easter + "Save Your Candies" = Best Explanation

If we hold that there is any credence to the "Save Your Candies" comment and believe there's an upcoming Easter event, the best explanation is simply double length lucky eggs.
It's not an over the top buff (like many have been predicting), it's on theme, they've lengthened item benefits before , and it sufficiently explains the "save the candies" comment.
I haven't heard any alternatives that are actually more likely, do you agree?

100%. Might even be combined with an "Easter basket" sale of discounted lucky eggs with a few other items thrown in, just like the Christmas presents.

I would say a constant double xp during Easter is also an option...

Considering its literally already been done aswell.

Very nice for 'free' players who dont spent money/buy eggs. As they will get the effect of buying eggs for free.

And also very good for xp grinders who do spend money/buy eggs. As they can double up with their own egg and get quadruple xp!

Everyone is happy that way.
And i would personally prefer them to do this option.

I honestly wouldn't want a double length lucky egg...I'd much rather get the double xp event instead since it's more useful for everyone (and 4x XP on lucky eggs). It's also more xp efficient to evolve than to catch.

With an hour long lucky egg, most people would be long out of candies and Pokemon to evolve due to limited Pokemon space so you'd have to try to catch a huge amount ASAP which would be tough.

A set double exp helps with all general enjoying the game while evolve grinding could be boring for an hour.

I think it unlikely that there will be an "Easter" event. This game tries to appeal to a global audience, crossing most political, geographic and religous boundaries. Why would Niantic risk offending the majority of the world populace, which is non-Christian, by hosting an "Easter" event, a day associated only with Christianity? Did Niantic have a "Chritmas" event? No, it did not. At least certainly not by that name. Niantic might hold a "Spring" event (ok, so it is approaching Autumn south of the Equator), but not an "Easter" event. Is it not true that Pokemon are, at heart, a Japanese creation? And since when are the Japanese predominately Christian?

The Thanksgiving event blows that whole theory apart.

How about half the distance promo to hatch the egg for the Easter event.
