Dragonite with Dragon tail / Hyperbeam
I was unlucky with my dragonite evolutions pre-gen 2 when DB was still available. I only ended up with 1 dragonite with DB.
I just evolved a 91 Dragonite and got the moveset of Dragon Tail/HB. I was really hoping for DT/Outrage.
I need a dragonite for offence purpose only. How does DT with hyperbeam compare to a DT with outrage or hurriance? Is hyperbeam much more inferior than outrage or hurricane?
Also, does anyone else have a dragonite with DT/HB and if you do, can you tell me how it performs on offence?
I have the candy and dust to level this dragnoite to my max level. I just don't know if it is worth it.

That website was great before the update, but Gamepress is much better. Notice how it rates DB/DC as 6th/8th best when it has been proven in multiple videos online to be better than DT/OR in battle situations. Do not go by that website at all. To answer OP, a Dragonite with DT is formidable. If you NEED attackers, power this guy up to a useful point. I never see the logic in powering up attackers all the way unless you are also placing them in gyms for high CP slot (which this guy is a good candidate for in my opinion). He has great IV and will command a high slot in a gym if you max him out, and will be an absolute beast on offense.
I just posted it for reference. Of course, it's only a simulation of straight out DPS calculations, not an actual battle simulation. I prefer DB-DC to anything that's currently available, but as far as the raw DPS is concerned all the DT movesets are superior.
I didn't mean to say that you should follow this list as gospel or anything, just to highlight the relative DPS calculations of the various Dragonite movesets.
I've used all the current Dragonite movesets, and I do really enjoy DT-Outrage, but it's a bit clunkier than DB movesets. If you want all out DPS it's insane. But my DB-DC dragons remain my go-to attackers.
Cheers
Even being the clear "worst" of the DT sets, it doesn't mean too much, they are all so close in damage. It's more of a preference between OR and hurricane, with hyperbeam being a slightly inferior comparable move to hurricane.
Hyperbeam still demolishes HP bars without stab. Power it up! Always time to grind for another one afterwards.
Hyperbeam on Dragonite is not a good defensive move. It is not optimal for attacking either, but serviceable. However, dragon tail is a good defensive move, so a plus there.
Me personally, I would hold out using dust and candy for a dragonite possibly with DT/OR or SW/OR, especially if you want to use it for defense. That is unless you are desperate right now for a defender, in which case it's your choice. :)
